Hey, did you see that RT announced a Rwby x Justice league crossover comic? They even released the designs for the heroes

I have (obviously) heard about it now and I’m... meh about it? I don’t think there are any inherent problems here like there sometimes are with RWBY’s other supplementary materials — comics are known for doing every kind of crazy plotline/crossover under the sun, so this is essentially just a fun AU, not something that might interfere with our main narrative — but beyond that I’m not dying to get my hands on it or anything. (Give me the new Witcher comic run!) That’s no doubt due mostly to my waning energy for RWBY as the series continues to struggle, also the fact that I still have a number of other stories, like the manga, to catch up on. But I’ll probably pick up the graphic novel collection at some point during my life lol.
I’m really bad at analyzing designs and I usually don’t know what I like/don’t like until I’ve seen it a fair amount, but I will say that I like the idea of creating that bridge between the Justice League’s animal counterparts and the faunus. Batman has bat ears and Aquaman has fins, which brings them into the RWBY-world fairly well. The only design I’m actively not liking right now is Wonder Woman’s. She looks way too young and feels like a Ruby clone with that face and hair. Her outfit also feels too busy. If you showed me these designs and said, “What iconic character is this?” I think I’d have been able to nail each one. However, take away the lasso and there’s too little about this design that says “Wonder Woman” to me. I’d probably have gotten it eventually, but both her face and outfit aren’t as on point as the others are.
