B - A pairing–platonic, romantic or sexual–that you initially didn’t consider, but someone changed your mind.
Lelouch/C.C, but this was mostly because I had no idea how to wrap my head around the character that was C.C. She was just weird to me because her outward lack of emotion. Then I met some people here on tumblr that really liked C.C. and they helped me figure out how to watch for her tells. I still don’t completely ship Lelouch/C.C. (my heart belongs to Suzalulu) but I still love the dynamic between the two of them so much better now that I know what to look for.
C - A ship you have never liked and probably never will.
Lelouch/Shirley (Code Geass), mostly because I feel like we never got to see Shirley as her own character, it was all about Lelouch. This doesn’t mean that I hate everyone who ships them or that it can’t be cute. It just means that it doesn’t meet my personal requirements.
Jean/Eren (Attack on Titan). This is more because I enjoy their relationship more as friends than as a ship. And, when I ship something, I have to like every possible aspect of their relationship. I want this two to be bristling and spitting at each other with nothing but friendship meant for the rest of their lives. I just can’t ship it romantically.
D - A pairing you wish you liked but just can’t.
Steve/Bucky (Marvel). I know I’m probably going to get flack for this, but it’s true. It’s like Jean and Eren up in the last question, I enjoy them more as friends than any romantic relationship. With Jean and Eren there’s a little wiggle room, not so with Steve and Bucky.
Jean/Armin (Attack on Titan). It’s obvious I ship Jeanmarco and there are a myriad of reasons for that. I also tried to ship Jean/Armin, but the dynamic didn’t work well enough for me on a few levels. I still see the ship and want to like it, but it just doesn’t work for me.
Haruka/Rin (Free!). This one I know exactly why I can’t get myself to ship it. 1) It’s a rivalry and I usually don’t do rivalries, I prefer the slow slip from friends into something more. 2) When I watched the first season and had my ship established I thought that Rin wasn’t in a good emotional place for any kind of pairings. I shipped Rin with emotional health all that season and Haruka with Makoto. I kinda never just got out of the habit.
R - Which friendship/platonic relationship is your favorite in fandom?
Steve and Bucky or Steve and Natasha or Steve and Sam. I just love watching Steve with his friends and their collective “Steve no!”
The honorable mention is Peggy Carter and Jarvis, because I love their dynamic together.
