Story time:

Yesterday an older gentleman comes in. He buys 1 thing, a 12 pack of soda. Then he proceeds to talk for 5 minutes about how his brother has 2 types of cancer and he's had heart attacks. Then he laughs and says "doc wants me to quit drinking my pepsis but I never will!"

My coworker after: was that a side quest?

Me: maybe just a knowledge based one, we've gained experience points.

Then I had a paranoid delusion about what reality I'm in while I straightened out the chip aisle.

Best customer interaction I've ever had happened today:

An older man (latest 60s?) asks me how I'm doing.

Me: Not bad. You?

Him: Pretty good...I wonder does that *trump* (winks) 'not bad'?

M: Not sure 🤔

H: But I need to know if I'm winning, I'm a white male!

Then we discussed how blue we are. Enjoyed the heck out of that regular already.

I have TWO practicum interviews!!!

One tomorrow and one sometime next week. They're both vastly different and I don't know which one I'm leaning towards but THEY WANT ME SO I'M HAPPY.

I went into work expecting to be low man on the totem pole since I've been gone all school year. In our deli, those with seniority get to work in the back making salads and etc., doing dishes, cooking for the hot case, basically any misc. tasks. Underlings have to work on the counter, slicing meats and cheeses and *shudders* working with the customers.

Instead I get there to find out we have four new people and we're training three more to go to another store. I got to stay in the back all day and direct the newbies around while making them help customers that I can avoid mwahahaha! And my next shift I have to train two girls how to open. I feel kind of awesome.

you know, i was gonna go into my job today and see what it's like and get a feel for things before i start on monday, but then i was driving home during sonic's happy hour and got a slush and melissa & joey is on netflix instant, so yeah... no, that's not happening today. i'll do it tomorrow, but now it's cherry slush tv watching time.
