Pet Sematary, the latest Stephen King remake, is scary, tense, and gory... It was a terrifing good time. Really enjoyed it. I liked where they went with the story, because we all know you have to change it up just a little for the remake. The breakout stars of Pet Sematary are the young Ellie, the daughter, who is played wonderfully by Jeté Laurence and the other is definitely Church the cat... dare I say this Church topped the original nasty feline. It was such a creepy little bastard! Jason Clarke is always good... and really nail the distressed, heartbroken father. I’m a huge John Lithgow fan, so it was great to see him. Some say his role felt forced, and I guess I can see that, but I liked his take on Jud. The infamous Jud versus scalpel scene is just as horrifying as in the original. They handled an iconic horror scene beautifully, both by staying true, but by giving there own twisted spin the classic, wince worthy moment. The last 15 minutes were great and the ‘new’ ending worked perfectly.
