Tara Clerkin Trio’s Somewhere Good
Tara Clerkin Trio - Somewhere Good
Hey, I've just finished reading Something Good on AO3. It's incredible. Please tell me that you're going to continue writing Someone Good and Somewhere Good. They are not abandoned, right? Right?!
Right. :)
First of all, thank you so much! Second of all, I get asked this a lot and I feel guilty every time, since I totally am planning on going back to that universe. But the full answer requires some nuance, if you’ll indulge me.
The thing about Something Good is that it was the phoenix from my finale despair. Without exaggeration, it was the most emotionally overwhelming story I’ve ever written, in the best way possible. It was a healing process for me, after being one of the folks who was thoroughly wrecked by what happened in 4x13. While I was in the thick of it, I couldn’t imagine ever leaving that ‘verse. But endings are weird for me and I ended up needing a small mental health break, because I kept going back to my immediate post-finale mindset. However, I recently re-read Something Good on my own and didn’t have that experience, which means I’m ready (and excited) to start writing in earnest again!
I’m currently deep into my second post-SG fic, this time about Fillory (pardon the plug). But once I get to a certain point in a backlog for chapters, Someone and Somewhere Good are my next stops. Pinky swear.
Again, thank you so much for your kind words! And your interest... it’s super motivating. 💗
I did always say to my friends that if I left the country I wouldn't come back...... Yeah
‘Somewhere Good’? More like Liv Dawson’s new single is something good, am i right? #pundemonium
Oh boy, when those strings swirl, when that piano flutters and that bittersweet guitar kicks in, some heartstrings are gonna be pulled as Dawson returns to the warmth and tenderness she displayed on her brilliant debut single ‘Tapestry,’ pleading for another chance at love (‘Leave it up to you, babe, to fix the mess I've made/We'll take us back to somewhere good’). Maybe love conquers all, maybe it doesn’t, you’ll just have to listen and find out... (-’_’-)
