this is the biggest fucking revelation of all times and I am confused yet amazed? apparently, the characters from the storybook series are not Sonic's friends from a parallel universe but their own characters, they look entirely different. sonic just thinks of them as his friends depending on their traits

(I don't believe it is entirely true cuz why would he back away from nimue thinking it's Amy if she didn't look like Amy? nvm, it's an interesting theory and I like it). So that reminds me of something;

Caliburn did mention Sir Percival is quite strong. He also doubted that sonic could defeat her. So, based on the aforementioned, Sonic associated his last rival, the one that his sword was not sure he could defeat with blaze. not knuckles. not shadow. blaze. which means sonic had a real hard time fighting blaze (in sonic rush). which confirms her capabilities as a person. but also;

HMMMM. the girl that sonic saves who also blushes at the mention of "hugs and kisses" is also associated with blaze. sonic really likes the idea of making blaze blush. you can understand where I'm going with this.

a wild sonaze ramble

OK BUT LETS SAY IN THIS MADE UP SCENARIO 

Sonic wasnt having any mental or memory issues and he's merely pretending he doesnt know what blaze is talking about 

...when in truth he does 

he's chillin and sipping tea and trolling blaze and at the same time,,, trying,,,, to control the beating in his chest listening to blaze talking and praising about him in such a poetic way,,,,

like?? just imagine?? he's just behaving like that just cuz he wants to know what blaze thinks of him! and knowing blaze he feels sure he cant get this kind of info if he just plainly asks lmao

Here’s what I realize about this scene:

percival was never in any real life threatening danger

she's fireproof

she can survive through lava

maybe she might have a hard time getting herself out of the pools of hot goop, but percival most likely can manage anyway one way or another

so there was no point for sonic to save percival

sonic probably knew that well himself, since he'd most likely learned about percival being fireproof as they fought.

but he took the mile anyway

why?

out of whim, because he can't help it

he cares about her too much

(I dont think for Percival in particular, but more for Blaze. and Percival undoubtedly reminds sonic of Blaze since she looks like her)

kinda reminds me of a certain SA moment where Knuckles saved Rouge...
