✨✨✨✨ These lovely oxfords were made by a brand called Soneha, using @desserto cactus leather from Mexico. I hardly ever collaborate with brands –– I am always more about “showing, not telling”. But I could not resist Soneha; their origin story, alone, is one of the sweetest I’ve ever heard. This brand is so inclusive. While I am an able-bodied person, I appreciate and enjoy how this product is so well-considered and made for everyone. I also love the quality of these shoes. And Soneha ensures that their supply chain is ethical; their products are handmade by local artisans in Mexico and India. The artisans employed in India are people with disabilites or from challenging backgrounds, and in Mexico, Soneha works with an all-woman-owned small artisan workshop. This is their first footwear line; it is made for all genders. #Soneha #SonehaStyle #Veganstyle #veganleather #cactusleather #desserto I’ve enjoyed the chance to try Desserto cactus leather (via these Soneha oxfords) as well –– Desserto is helping change fashion’s supply chain by removing animals from the system while protecting the planet. As a venture, Desserto covers several SDGs: Goals 9, 10, 12, 13, and 15. Cactus actually sequesters carbon, while reducing the need for water; it requires no irrigation. It's also regenerative, remaining unharmed and able to harvest repeatedly from the same plant! Nor does it require chemicals to grow, and it's abundant in Mexico (and in other desert climate locations.) And of course, any innovative plant material that removes nonhuman animals from supply chains is a winner.🌵👍 #nextgenmaterials #innovativematerials #SDGs #animalfreefashion #carbonsequestering #earthdayeveryday #earthday (at Telegraph Hill) https://www.instagram.com/p/CcleAEWPbkt/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
