summary: writer’s block hits hard and yeonjun just needs something new to look forward to.
genre: fluff (just a bit of angst if you squint your eyes and look closely)
warnings: none
he could hear the light pitter-patter of the rain hitting against the window as he sat inside his confined studio. his foot was mindlessly tapping against the hard oak wood floors. the end of the pencil in his hand rhythmically harmonized with the taps of his feet. the static ringing inside his ears tuned out the silence that filled the void of the studio.
why wasn’t anything coming to him? he literally came into the studio, buzzing with thousands of ideas overflowing inside his head. why is it now that he’s finally settled, with pen and paper on hand, and his laptop open and ready to produce a demo track, suddenly there’s nothing?
yeonjun huffed out a breath and dropped the pencil down on the desk. he pushed himself away from it and turned to face out the window. his hand reached up, snatched the hat he was wearing, and threw it off to the side. it didn’t really do anything to help his writer’s block, but it was one step closer to relieving the load he was bearing.

hours have passed and yeonjun has resorted to spinning in circles in his chair, huffing and puffing in frustration as he tried to figure out something. anything. why is everything out of sight, out of mind all of a sudden?!
“that’s it, i’m going out.” yeonjun thought as he slipped on his jacket and put his hat back on.
he grabbed his wallet, keys, ID, and other necessities that he could just slip into his pockets and walked out of his studio. whenever he passed by someone who acknowledged him, he just gave them a polite smile and bow, but kept walking. he’s been trapped inside for the longest time and needed a new sense of scenery to hopefully ease his mind and bring some sort of inspiration to him.
when he exited the bighit building, yeonjun walked the small distance in the rain and came across a bus stop. he took a seat and just sat there, looking around and hoping something would come to him.
nothing. figures.
yeonjun was about to stand up and leave when the bus pulled up in front of him and the doors opened. the bus driver took a glance at him expectantly and he just hopped on without a second thought, paying however much the bus fare was to wherever the heck this bus was gonna take him to.
he was sitting on the bus for quite a while, with people getting on and others getting off consistently. when the bus began to look emptier, the bus driver turned around and nodded his head at yeonjun.
“hey, where are you supposed to get off kid? the next stop is the last stop.” he asked.
yeonjun had to think fast because he genuinely had no clue where he wanted to end up. he glanced up at the neon sign above the bus driver’s head and read the name of the next location before looking back at the driver, responding with, “hongdae, please.”
to yeonjun’s surprise, the bus drive diverted his attention to another passenger he had no idea was still on the bus, “and you?”
“uh, hongdae.” the female responded, glancing at yeonjun before looking back at the driver.
the bus driver turned his head after nodding and started to drive the few minutes to hongdae and finally finish his shift.
yeonjun glanced back at the female who was still on the bus but didn’t focus on her for too long. what if she was a fan that was following him around? maybe he should call for backup and get picked up from hongdae when he arrives at the location.
when the bus arrived at its last stop, yeonjun and the young lady got off the bus and he started to walk in a direction he had no idea he was going in.
“um, excuse me!”
yeonjun heard the same female voice that he heard on the bus and turned around to see what she needed.
“this may seem ridiculous, but i was wondering if you spoke any english? i’m a foreigner traveling by myself and i’m just trying to get back to my hotel and i was wondering if you could help me?” she asked of him.
oh, okay. so she’s safe.
“yeah, i actually do speak some english. where’s your hotel located?” he responded to her.
she let out a sigh before pulling up her hotel reservation on her phone and showing it to him, “it’s in korean. i have no clue where it is other than it’s back in seoul somewhere and that it was cheap.”
yeonjun read the hotel information he was shown and let out a small chuckle before handing the phone back to her.
“this probably isn’t much help, but i believe that hotel is about 30-40 minutes away from here. i don’t specifically kow the location of that place, but i do know that both me and you are further away from where we are supposed to be right now.” he tried to lighten the mood a bit after seeing the way her face dropped from its previous hopeful expression.
yeonjun took a look around before settling to look at the young lady in front of him. he felt his phone buzzing in the pocket of his jacket but pushed it aside.
“how about i take you around hongdae and then we can share the taxi fare to get back to seoul?” yeonjun offered. the female immediately lightened up and took him up for his offer.
“awesome, my name’s yeonjun.”
“i’m (y/n).”
after introducing themselves to one another, they began walking in the direction yeonjun was walking in before.
