This song portraits exactly what it feels like growing up. You are doing something, and all of a sudden you realize that time is passing, and it never goes backward. It’s not about regreting or losing, it’s about realizing that time is real. When you are young, your parents don’t trust your house, you don’t drink, you don’t party, you don’t feel alone. But, now that you have grown, everything has changed. You are alone, and you feel alone. You stuck with a few buddies, and you say “this is what I want, let’s stay like this forever” but forever is an illusion, and you know it. From a positive point of view, I think we should embrace the passing of time. Yeah, it’s scary to have a job and pay your bills, but there is beauty in it. Yeah, it sucks to come home and find your aparment a mess, but it’s your mess. Yeah, it depresses you to think of when your mother woke you up and made you breakfast, but now you can do it as you please. We find ourselves living, and we find ourselves tolerating it.
