Who out there loves some fresh from the Bayou Louisiana Cajun and Creole music? if so, or even if you don't quite yet, then we've got a treat for you! We've wrapped up mastering the first version of an authentic Louisiana Cajun style song that I wrote for Kant's Konundrum's upcoming second official EP! It's part of the massive roll out of new material we have for summer 2019, and to mark the occasion, we'll be incorporating Louisiana-style music discoveries into some of our social media posts. This CD is an album by a magnificent hidden gem of a Cajun band called La Recolte (French for "The Harvest"), and as the name suggests, the band has harvested dozens of the best sonic and lyrical traditions of Louisiana French Cajun music, which dates back to the 17th century. If you haven't heard this extraordinary genre before, I can guarantee it's almost like nothing else that has ever graced your ears, full of unusual and often exotic instruments like the steel guitar, triangle, and accordion, often built to custom specifications and played in remarkably innovative ways. In the best Cajun tradition, La Recolte's music is upbeat and exhilarating in the one hand, and profound and thought-provoking on the other in it's melodies and lyrics. Members include Shane Bellard on accordion, Chris Lafleur on drums, Joel Breaux on the fiddle, Learlin "LJ" Bellard on rhythm guitar, and Paul "Polo" Borel on rhythm guitar.
