usually i post snips to instagram but since i'm not on there anymore i'll just post the whole process. here's what working on a song looks like, and is honestly one of the first times i have picked up my uke since i've had all this free time. hopefully i can keep going. it's weird how i can remember the songs i've written with lyrics from like 8 years ago. maybe i've said all i've needed to say, or know how to say, for now.

not really getting better but still trying to play around. i still don't have a good grasp on beats or, anything, if i'm honest. but still trying. so there are none here, because it doesn't click in my brain without pushing too hard. keys don't really make sense to me, and especially in electronic form. i know it should be tangible and feel natural, and it's all the same notes essentially. but i'm so used to strings and frets as my first musical language (which i'm still no pro at). whatever. sorry if this is getting annoying. i'm still gonna do it though. i'm gonna go watch the new episode of westworld now and probably fall asleep on my couch.

i've been awake for almost 24 hours; went on a two hour walk to get groceries, did stuff for my chem class for like 5 hours, had porch beers with a good friend for two hours but...over the phone. lord knows what happened to the rest of the day. i made food and did this. i'm trying not to watch tv most days, and trying to not sleep in too much. whatever else happens to time then so it goes. i think tomorrow i'm going to revisit the short story i've been working on for almost ten years, i think i have an idea about how to approach the ending, finally.
