I had a great day today doing the things I love to do. First I made breakfast tacos for Dave and scrambled eggs and toast for me. Then took a shower and got ready for the day. Riley, the conure, helped me make the bed and pick up around the house. She took a bath and I emptied the dishwasher.
On Friday I went to Dr. Keller for an injection in my arthritic left knee and my right hip for the bursitis. Yes, I am getting old. I had an injection for the knee about 6 months ago and it was starting to hurt pretty bad. So today was feeling pretty good. Still some slight pain, but not too bad. I wanted to get some exercise in and have Dave go with me if he felt like it.
First though I had to stop by Hasting Hardback Cafe to see my friend Julie and give her the shawl I made for her. We chatted a little bit and then I went to Hobby Lobby to pick up some brown yarn.
Then I came home and Dave and I went for a short bike ride. Five minutes, I think. It was all I could do, but hope to do more soon. It was a gorgeous day and I see that I got a little sun on my face and chest.
Then we went to get a Sonic milkshake and went to the park. We sat under a enclosure where a barn swallow or two kept flying into. Then I noticed their nest made of clay. The barn swallows were so graceful with beautiful colors. There were great white herons on the small lake also.
After that we went home and Dave turned on the TV. I was hoping that he would get a nap in because he has been so busy at work. I went to the bowling alley to play some practice games. I am in a tournament on Monday and went to do better than I have been bowling. My first game wasn't too bad at 128, but the second was horrible at 97. I almost didn't play another game, but I am glad I did because I got 155. Lots of spares and two strikes, and 3 open frames.
I got home and Dave was still lying around. We were planning on going to the NJCAA World Series game at the ballpark at 6. The game was great, the attendance was at full capacity and the weather was very nice at a balmy 73 degrees.
So all in all I had a very good day. Oh and the only things I had to eat were the breakfast, the milkshake, a fruit smoothie and a hot dog from the ballpark.
