I wonder if Sega's ever remade a Sonic game...if not, they should really try that instead of releasing "remastered" or "HD" versions that are the exact same game with the exact same gameplay but with slightly better graphics and/or ported to another system.

Imagine, a full remake of Sonic Adventure with much better gameplay, better models and graphics, redone music, redone voice acting (especially the English voices), and an upgraded Chao Garden...I'm willing to bet that a remake or two, especially of classic or Dreamcast era Sonic games, would have a better chance at saving the Sonic franchise than an all-new game at this point.
