He’s groggily coming to. One pale blue eye peeking open as his surroundings blur into focus. As he begins to adjust to his senses, there’s a sort of tune that is becoming more and more apparent. At least, it sort of sounds like a tune— wait, it sounds a bit off. The voice is deep and lacking tone, a dismal sort of take of a seemingly familiar melody.

❝ ...Fujiwara-kun? ❞

He can now understand that he’s in the school infirmary, from the plastic blinds to the stiff white sheets. His memories poured back into his mind like a glass being filled with water. It was a rather risky gimmick, but one he’d accomplished many times before. This time there was a rather unpredictable element, and he’d taken a fall. Fujiwara seemed to be taking the job of looking after him... more or less.

❝ Ah. You’re awake. ❞ The dark haired boy says.

❝ Were you... singing? ❞

❝ Mm. It seemed like you were having a nightmare. So I attempted to soothe you. ❞

❝ Wasn’t that... Donguri Korokoro? ❞

❝ Mm. ❞

Hozumi found himself lost in silence, and shortly after; a burst of laughter. Whether it was from how blunt Takeru in admitting to singing such a childish song or from the way he sang it was up in the air. The first year looked a bit confused, and the blonde made a note to thank him properly later.

His phone says it’s 11:58 AM. Now the question is— does he go and face the idiot or does he leave him waiting?  Tempting as the second one may be, it might be counter productive to his cause. Himemiya couldn’t just give up after all the work he’d put into this. Stuffing his phone into his pocket he makes the short walk across the street from the cafe to the shopping district front, propping himself against the statue stationed in the middle of the walk way. The straw of his drink stuck in one cheek, he lazily peered around in wait.

The plastic bag is produced before his face with a rustle, weighted by the two hefty containers within. The pigtail boy stares down at the other runner apathetically, despite the seemingly kind deed. Indeed, the contents were protein powder, perhaps not the same brand he was used to, but protein powder all the same.

┎ ♛ → Riku had gone to bed early last night after the upset of believing Sakurai already had plans for Valentines, with Fujiwara no less. Inwardly, he berated himself for not having the courage to speak to her sooner, but what was done could not be undone. He tried to reason with himself that if both of his friends were happy this way, he should be as well--but it was still difficult to accept.

     With emotions and thoughts circling so heavily through his mind, Riku had completely forgotten about the early morning practice he’d agreed to with Fujiwara. It wasn’t until the soft vibrations of his phone began to stir him. It lay next to his pillow, plugged into the wall outlit to charge for the night. The LED screen lit up with a text from Fujiwara, displaying the time being not too much after 6 am. Bleary red eyes roused from their sleep, making out the kanji on his screen.

     “...Fujiwara...?” he mumbled with a groggy voice. It would seem however Riku wasn’t going to be given much time to figure out the message as a louder clatter sounded off to his right. --His window?

     Rising from his bed, Riku rubbed at his eyes again. Blonde hair down and messy, with a sleep shirt and pants displaying Runruly’s logo proudly, Riku got up in his pajamas and proceeded over to his window to see what might have hit it. Was it a bird? Parting the curtains, with one hand Riku looked out to the world below seeing Fujiwara standing outside the wall to his house under the street lights. Fully dressed in his jersey and starring pointedly up at Riku’s window.

     “Fujiwara?” Riku muttered again, more awake this time. The first year moved over back to his bed and picked up his phone. Tapping past the lock screen he replied back to Fujiwara’s text.
