"Anakin’s the father, isn’t he?” Obi-Wan asked, he knew the answer, he knew the answer the moment he knew Padmé was with child. Maybe he hadn’t wanted to believe it, perhaps he was in denial about what was going on right in front of him, but now, with everything falling apart, he had to know.
Surprisingly, Padmé broke down and told him everything, about their secret marriage, her pregnancy, and now she was scared because Anakin was turning to the dark side because of a vision he had of her dying in child birth. He wasn’t angry at her, how could he? Anakin and Padmé had fallen in love, while it may have been against the code, Obi-Wan knew there wasn’t anything more powerful in the universe.
“Let me help him, Padmé,” Obi-Wan said, taking her hands, squeezing them gently. “Let’s go to him together, perhaps the two of us can talk sense into him, stop him before we loose him forever.”
The journey to Mustafar had been quiet and tense. Padmé worried about Anakin, worried what Obi-Wan might do when finding him. Obi-Wan’s thoughts were on Anakin as well, but they weren’t thoughts of hate or malice, they were of concern for the young man that had been like a brother to him.
Once on Mustafar, Obi-Wan stood and looked out the ship, “he’s close, just, stay with me, I feel like if he’s going to see reason, it will be because we’re both united.” She nodded and followed him out of the ship.
“Anakin!’ Obi-Wan yelled out, “Anakin where are you?!” He looked around and spotted him, he could sense the anger, the fear in his former padawan and he said, “Anakin! Please! I just want to talk!”
