omg ok so wait with runes can english be directly translated into runes b/c im rly confused and is elder futhark the one you use most often? i've found a site with lots of different variations
they're just phonetic?
so you can write english words in runes, yeah.
It's just that instead of using the latin alphabet we usually write in, you use the futhark instead
I always use the elder, even though i keep meaning to learn teh younger Danish but I never got around to it. They're the two viking-y ones.

idk man i just found a copy of the elder futhark and learned it
i kept a copy in my bag for about a week, decided to start writing all my schoolwork in runes [seriously nONE OF MY TEACHERS EVEN MINDED] and whenever i got to a letter i couldn't remember i just checked it and made sure to remember for next time
it's pretty easy to remember once you get into the habit of writing it
