This hobby made the family & friends working it operate during the night hours, which birthed the name “Night Shift.” It was 2007 and the idea was to bring something to the shelves that no other brewer had at the time. In 2012 reality hit and they launched in a small warehouse in Everett. Over the years, after a long day and even longer nights, their “better craft” mindset has more than paid off producing world class beers that has called a passionate community of loyal customers. They have three values that they hold key to their success and they are inclusivity, integrity and innovation. #Repost @sons_of_suds My Buddy Harry sent me some of his amazing craft all the way from NJ! So I posted up in the lab and proceeded to do some research myself! First up - Wolfenstout white stout: Harry’s 1st experimental brew uses Cascara (coffee fruit) to capture the whole lifecycle of coffee. Starting with the fruit and aging over coffee. Next, tons of nibs provide that chocolaty feel. The combined result is a delicious stout flavor. With amazing aromas of coffee, it sits in all of it’s golden glory at 6.6%. Very smooth, clean, well balanced, and well crafted. Hits your palate with a coffee front, a delicious chocolate middle, and coffee end. It’s the culmination of all things fermented: coffee and chocolate nibs. Next up - Fibonacci: This brew was smooth, crushable and well balanced. This Snowblower session ale is inspired by the Fibonacci numbers, which are sum of the two preceding ones. For example 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5...hence the 3.5% abv. And I can’t wait to try the Voodoo Doll!! A 6.5% sweet stout Inspired by the dark magic of New Orleans. This beer is brewed with lactose and aged on chicory to add a touch of woody/nutty/roasty notes that enhance the dark malts in this brew. #Repost @sons_of_suds I got a chance to experience Pure Project for all it’s glory and I gotta say, they didn’t disappoint. I went to the Balboa Park Taproom & BierGarten near Miramar in the more high end area compared to all the other breweries near by. The tap room is extremely luxurious and up-to-date pleasing to a more upscale crowd, while the Biergarten right across sits in a wood chip lot they purchased in steel cage gates that features a full beer tap bar area along with food trucks and/or pizza on site for a more laid back experience. Great merch on site and plenty of delicious brews to choose from. The one featured with me is their Electric Dragon, a Murky TIPA with raspberry and black currant brumating at 10% with 1,100 pounds of organic raspberries and black currants. Together with a heavy dose of Cashmere and hand-selected Mosaic hops, these ingredients form the body of the Electric Dragon. Aromas of blackberry, guava, and dank will shock the senses, while flavors of raspberry, black currant, ruby red grapefruit and resin cannot be tamed. And a final warning—it’s creamy mouthfeel, medium body and dry finish belie the true strength of this triple. The barrel aged “JALI” is an American sour fruit ale brewed with apricots and jalapeños and aged in tequila barrels!
