A daughter of the House of Winter and a refined individual, Sonya has always had to deal with weight of expectation, whether it be family's social status, or the lofty careers of her older brother and sister. However, through careful consideration and training, Sonya has elected that there is only one person who's standards she must meet - her own.

Preferring to use her primarily Ice-type team as both her specialist team and freeform team, the question of Sonya's starter is a matter of perspective. From the view of the Pokémon she started her journey with, it falls to her glisteningly pale Glaceon, who attempts to emulate a refined yet stoic matter to match her trainer. On the other hand, there is her Sirfetch'd, a noble knight that was assigned to protect Sonya at a young age. While it may not be an ice type typically, once its Terastalised, you will know its cold edge and freezing Tera Blasts.

As for the rest of her team, they have come together as a result of Sonya pushing herself as a trainer. Climbing the very peaks of Mount Lanikala, Sonya earned the trust of the elegant Ninetales, while she proved her strength to her Froslass, halting it from terrorising a local town. Since then, they've shown a bond so strong that the two can even initiate a Mega Evolution with Froslass' Mega Stone. And Sonya's Frosmoth joined her as a result of her kindness, helping her as an injured Snom under siege by larger aggressors, protecting it and nursing her back to health.

And perhaps her most mysterious Pokémon is the mighty steed that she rides upon, Glastrier. Upon deeming her worthy, Sonya was granted custodianship of this mysterious Pokémon, both to the pride of her older sister and ire of her older brother. That being said, Sonya doesn't really know what the fuss is about, he's just a friendly ice-type Rapidash isn't he? After all, she knows that Glastrier will always enjoy a freshly plucked Iceroot Carrot.

Now travelling to Akkadios, she has declared her intention to prove her strength in the Pokémon World Tournament. That being said, she has formed several strong bonds of friendship with fellow competitors. Perhaps one of them, Ruby Richards, might be the recipient of a strong romance- RIVALRY, I SAID RIVALRY!
