You don’t get rainy day photos, unless you go out in the rain. Was pretty happy to get this image while walking across the Suzhou Creek bridge in Shanghai. It was obviously raining, and I had my jacket and hat to keep me dry, but the umbrella remained in my backpack. It is an impossible challenge to manually focus a 50mm f0.95 lens while holding an umbrella. Yes, I saw him coming, but literally only had 3 seconds to bring the camera up and estimate where he was going to be when he reached me at the peak of the bridge. The stitching on his shoulder and some of the rain on his umbrella is sharp. His nose is just a bit soft. Probably shot at f1.4. Have always been amazed at the ability to ride a bike and hold an umbrella at the same time. The grimace on his face is clear as he heads into a cold wind with the spray of rain in his face. The slanted girders on the far side of the bridge frame the rider and the umbrella nicely.
