Warning : Uh I don't know mentions of being emotionally and mentally exhausted? I hope that works
You couldn't sleep. The pressure and stress was too much. But you knew that staring at the laptop screen isn't going to give you anything other than a headache. You were fed up. Living the same day again and again. Not being able to go out. Not being able to dance in the rain. Not being able to wave at the kids in the park. Not being able to pet the street dogs that came wagging their tails.
With a sigh, you closed your laptop. It's way past midnight. Your boyfriend is asleep and you have nothing to do. Well, except for drowning under pressure and anxiety. You got up from your desk and turned around just to see your boyfriend leaning against the doorframe looking at you with nothing but adoration (and sleep).
He knew it was difficult for you. He knew you were mentally exhausted. He knew you hated this. But what he loved was how strong you were. Waking up everyday and starting your work with dedication. Trying to smile and be positive. That's how you were. That what your coping mechanism was. "Negativity is a choice." is what you say everytime. But he knew you needed a break.
With all these thoughts going inside his head, he didn't notice you coming closer to him and wrapping your arms around his lean frame, nuzzling your head on his chest. He kissed the top of your head and that's when he felt the shaky breath you took. This. This was something you need to let out. All the frustration, sadness, irritation. With one hand at the back of your head and one rubbing your back up and down, soobin whispered in the softest voice he could muster, "Let it out love. It's alright."
And that's when you broke down. He had never seen you like this. Yes,you cried, but this time he can sense how much you were going through. He managed to bring you to the couch to sit down. "It's fine, love. I'm right here." Your hands reached out to clutch his shirt in your fist. After a while, your sobs began to die down. But he didn't let go. He still held you as if you were about to disappear.
When you pulled away, his hands were on your cheeks, holding you like you were the most delicate thing he had ever touched. His eyes searched yours for any remaining signs of sadness or frustration. Finding none of that, the next thing that left his lips was enough to put a smile on your face.
"I'm always here. And I always will be."
