The temperature gets hotter the nearer they are, colder when they are further away
“Yah stop sulking, you’re bound to find your soulmate, M/N,” Daheon said “Well that’s easy for you to say you already found yours,” I said. Daheon has been my best friend since high school. we used to stay up all night thinking about our soulmates but now we’re adults and Daheon found his soulmate in a cute coffee shop.don't get me wrong I'm happy for them but it's annoying how perfect they are.
”Aw come on the only reason you haven't found then yet is cuz you don't even go socialize anymore,” Daheon said “ I might as well be frozen at this point,” I said putting my head down on the counter” Daheon sighed “Come on let's go to the park your soulmate might be there” “What are the chances” Dahoen dragged me out of my chair through the door and into his car
I leaned my head against the car window “Daheon we both know my soulmate isn't just gonna suddenly appear in the park magically” I said in a flat tone “Hey, we gotta try everything” Daheon said while parking on the street “Now let's go!”
We walked through the park and it was beautiful, the leaves flowing in the wind but I was still freezing cold “Can't we just leave I’m freezing” “Are you colder than usual?” Daheon asked I sighed “I don't know I cant tell. I just want to leave” “alright well lets at least go get something to eat” “Fine”
We ended up going to a little bakery the smell of freshly baked bread filled the air it was comforting. We sat in the corner of the shop admiring the small decorations that sat on the counter. "It's actually kinda nice in here," I said in a relaxed tone "Of course it is it gives you a sense of home," Daheon said as a waiter walked up to our table. The waiter was nice she tried to flirt with me but I just ignored her. The food didn't take very long cause all we ordered was a loaf of cloud bread and a few random pastries. We sat in silence eating the food, it was delicious, the sweet flavor and the soft dough, it gave me a fuzzy feeling in my stomach.
"M/N"... "M/NNNN"... "M/N!" I jumped suddenly "Jeez dude I've been calling your name for the last minute," Daheon said slightly annoyed " Sorry I was just surprised how good this is," I said "Ok? weirdo," Daheon said with a giggle. Then I felt cold but not freezing cold just cold "I got warmer," I said suddenly "You did?" "Yeah!" I was so excited this meant that I was slightly closer to my soulmate "We have to go find them," I said as went to go quickly pay for the food "But we don't know were the-" "Cmon lets go!" I said cutting off Daheon.
I dragged Daheon out of the bakery and into the car "Let's just drive around to see if we can find them" I said excitedly "Alright" Daheon said with a chuckle. We drove around for a while, I kept getting warm then cold until we parked on a random street. "feel warm" "That means they're close!" Obviously".
We hopped out of the car and started to walk, each step I felt warmer. We continued to walk until we saw a little stand selling cotton candy. We saw a tall boy standing there waiting for his bear-shaped cotton candy "It has to be him "Daheon said while pushing me forward "Wait! I'm not ready" I whisper shouted at Daheon "Too bad" Was the last thing I heard before being pushed towards the mysterious boy. I was standing right next to him, It was hot, burning hot.
"Um hello," I said quietly "Hello," The boy said "I guess you're my soulmate," He said shyly "Yeah I was looking for you all day" "Really?" Yeah," I replied scratching the back of my head. There was silence for a minute. "I'm Soobin" "Oh I'm M/N" "Well it's nice to meet you, M/N," Soobin said with a blush. "Wanna share?" Soobin said while grabbing his cotton candy "Oh sure!".
We ended up sitting and sharing the cotton candy and making small talk "I'm so glad we finally met" I said calmly " Me too" Soobin said while shifting his hand closer to yours. I slipped my hand in his while he talked about himself. It felt like we sat there forever and I loved it but soon it got dark. "It's starting to get late," Soobin said sadly "It's ok we can always talk tomorrow," I said while pulling out my phone "Just gimme your number" "Ah okay". Soobin and I exchanged numbers and went our separate ways. I met back up with Daheon at the car. "Well look who came back after 2 years," Daheon said with a chuckle " Yeah yeah," I said while getting in the car.
I talked about Soobin the whole way back home. "He sounds amazing," Daheon said "He is!" I said in an excited voice. Daheon finally pulled up at my house and dropped me off. It felt nice to not be freezing cold anymore I changed into my pajamas and plopped down in bed. I was about to go to bed when I suddenly got a notification.

Me: Hey Soobin
Soobinnie: I just wanted to tell you goodnight
Me: Well goodnight soulmate
I sent my last text then turned off my phone and drifted to sleep thinking about the future of me and Soobin.
