Oh yeah! I forgot to tell you guys!
So, today an electrical outlet randomly caught on fire in my house! Like, we went through renovations a few years ago and the person we hired to take care of electrical stuff didn’t... really know what he was doing so we have electrical troubles sometimes but this is the first time something like that happens.
There’s no need to worry though, it happened in a room we use mostly for storage and none of us or any of our animals were there when it happened and we were able to put it out before anything more flammable fought on fire but check this out:
We got soot tags! It’s a rare phenomenon and I remember learning about them not too long ago on a Tumblr post! It’s pretty surreal seeing them in real life tbh. My mom had no idea of what they were. At least we know better than to try to clean them now (apparently trying to remove them makes them stain the wall they’re hanging onto permanently).
Not that we’re super worried about stains because, well... this is what happened to the outlet that caught on fire:
