People are getting upset over SOPA for the wrong reasons: their fanfic and role playing stuff. are you fucking kidding me? there are more important things than that.
But people need reason to join together, yes there are stuff on the internet that promote free speech... even free promotions for companies could be closed. News outlets be removed. Yet, It will stop those from starting and continuing any content on the internet. Fanfics, creepypastas, parodies, etc. My main issues with SOPA is this:
piracy shouldn't be a felony that should only be for far worse crimes IE murder, rape, ETC.
No Warning, No protection for end-users
Too Much Power to one group
No real checks and balances
underhand way to stop FREEDOM OF SPEECH
If they where seriously not thinking of themselves and their wallet... They would have made it more fair for the people.... There is a more EFFECTIVE WAY TO FIGHT PIRACY THIS ISN'T IT
But Regardless their reason helping to stop SOPA still helps everyone... so even the selfish can be selfless... So I really think complaining about the reason's isn't productive, making sure other people sign the petition and letting ALL THE ORGANIZATIONS KNOW!
