Bc i know some ppl who get uncomfortable writing about real people that way make him into another ego or just something different, but he could also just be Seán basically or maybe a part of him?? Like idk how much it has to do with the story but I'm curious!
I guess I don’t actually know what you mean? I don’t think just saying “this is another ego named Jack who’s like Jack but not Jack” actually means that you’re... not writing Jack?? like people used to write Septiplier shit and they would be like “this is a fictional version of the characters so it’s not invasive!” but like no... that’s still invasive, asshole. Just because you say it’s a fictional version of him doesn’t mean you can just write whatever you want about real people.
when I write Sean, I respect the boundaries he’s laid down: no porn/kink, no shipping, nothing invasive to his personal life. He’s said before he’s cool with fanfiction otherwise, the same way he’s been cool with fanart of Anti hurting him or Schneep trying to save him or him in a video game or something like that. I don’t pretend I’m not writing Jack, I just acknowledge that there are boundaries that shouldn’t be crossed, I don’t violate his personal life or preferences, and I maintain a distance from him. I also know I’m never going to actually be accurate to who Jack is and I give him fancy powers and a relationship with the egos, so in that sense, yes, I know this is totally a fictional character. I do write Jack in small moments, but I don’t try to delve into his psyche, write about his personal life, or project onto him. Nobody should just pretend Jack is a character and then do whatever they want with that character. Disclaimers don’t mean you aren’t violating the boundaries of a real human being.
