HDM FAN WEEK 2021
Day 2: Favourite place -> The Costas' Houseboat
[ID in alt text]
One of the really beautiful things about dæmons is that they do not age like normal animals do. Because they are souls, and our souls only age if we let them. Fardar Coram’s Sophonax remained as beautiful and active as ever, even when her human had become a frail old man.
his dark materials, episode three: “the spies” ↳ make your mind go blank again. you should be good at that.
Farder Coram: I would not change a hair on Sophonax, but that's not to say I haven't dreamed her different.
Sophonax: Excuse YOU
Tbh, I was waiting for Sophonax to strike down the spy fly and gnaw on it like the cat she is bc I remember a friend who has a few cats telling me one of hers was catching cockroaches in the garage. Imagine that after the “although sometimes I dream of her different” comment.
Kaisa and Sophonax
A very soft protest of how these two are portrayed in the new series.
Also I love this ship <3
Inktober 8 : Ma Costa. Inktober 9 : John Faa. Inktober 10 : Farder Coram & Sophonax.
(thanks to Jade and Léa for the help with the birds <3)
“She could hardly take her eyes off Farder Coram's dæmon, who was the most beautiful dæmon she'd ever seen. When Pantalaimon was a cat, he was lean and ragged and harsh, but Sophonax, for that was her name, was golden-eyed and elegant beyond measure, fully twice as large as a real cat and richly furred. When the sunlight touched her, it lit up more shades of tawny-brown-leaf-hazel-corn-gold-autumn-mahogany than Lyra could name. She longed to touch that fur, to rub her cheeks against it, but of course she never did.”
