My health has greatly benefited from my daily walks - there is one major exception - my left foot. I have had longer walks than usual the last two days and my left foot is throbbing so I need to rest a day - maybe two. #SoreFoot #DayOff #Announcement #Ouch #SorryNoNewPhotosForADayOrTwo (at Agua Fria, New Mexico) https://www.instagram.com/p/CY-ksstrKCT/?utm_medium=tumblr

Had to move my weekly long walk to Audubon Park today due to the Crescent City Classic. A chilly start but absolutely gorgeous day! Hope you’re having a brilliant day wherever you may be! #audubonpark #crescentcityclassic #longwalk #sorefoot #showmeyournola #followyournola #neworleans #igersneworleans #igersnola #gorgeousday (at Audubon Park) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bwe7tmylrxL/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=198afoa1e2iso
I ate a lot of foods that cause inflammation and now my foot sore.
Howdy! How was your holiday? I swear this holiday turned me into a food addict. I have never eaten that much in my entire life hahaha. My family spent the holiday in my house so we’ve finally had the chance to bond after a long time. So, I woke up this morning with a sore foot and feeling pained. Pain feels like gouty-ish, I know because I had already experienced repeated bouts of gout before and it’s because of drinking too much soda every day and beer every night. I am suspecting that this inflammation is because I ate and drink a lot of foods that cause inflammation that’s why my foot is sore. Good thing my nana is also here because she’s great in making teas that fight inflammation. You know old people loves to drink teas especially grandmas. I think this is one of the reasons why my nana rarely gets sick and is very healthy (without illness) at the age of 81.
My go to tea whenever I feel pained or sick would always be turmeric tea. It worked wonders to me whenever my hand or foot is inflamed. If you don’t know how much turmeric to take for inflammation, I have a recipe below that you can try and it has proven to reduce any inflammation. My nana taught me this tea recipe because I live alone with my 2 dogs at home so whenever I have flare-ups, it would always be my main medicine. I swear by the healing properties of this tea and I’m so glad that I don’t have to take any pill or medication because these OTC medicines have side effects on our body. I won’t make this any longer, check out below my nana’s “Triple Kill Turmeric Tea” (because it kills pain, inflammation and fatigue lol).
Nana’s “Triple Kill” Turmeric Tea Ingredients: 1 tablespoon ground turmeric (you can use the ones bought at the grocery but it’s better if you can find the real one) 3-4 Lemon (Pro tip: to get more juice from the lemon, warm it first in a bowl of water then roll it, slice it and juice it using a fork) 4 tablespoon honey 4 cups of water Pinch of black pepper.
Procedure: Bring 4 cups of water to a boil and then add the ground turmeric and lemon rinds. Reduce the heat and simmer it for 10 minutes. Pour and strain the tea into a small pitcher. Add the honey, lemon juice and pinch of black pepper. It is best to drink it while it’s a little bit warm. Enjoooooooy!
Let me know if the recipe worked for you or even if you just liked it.
