In which Corvus comforts Soren Listen to Blazing by Korey Banks for full immersion @sorinethemastermind so you can cry this morning

Corvus hadn’t seen Soren at all once he had arrived at the camp with King Ezran. Before, he’d see glimpses of blonde hair or a small blur of red, but he hadn’t actually seen him.

And now, there wasn’t even that. It was like he disappeared, and Corvus didn’t have a good feeling about it.

After bringing a bundle of kindling to one of the fires, he studied the ground in a fleeting attempt to spot imprints from the soles of Soren’s boots, having a different tread from the other’s standard-issue boots.

Nothing.

He found Soren’s boots a few minutes later, sitting neatly outside one of the tents. The inside of the tent was void of anyone, only having a bedroll laid out on the ground.

Wherever he went, he clearly didn’t want Corvus or anyone else to find him, and it worried him more than he was willing to admit out loud.

Which meant that he was going to keep looking for Soren, even if that meant wandering around aimlessly in the middle of the night, hoping that he’d stumble across him.

Corvus weaved through the trees, squinting through the darkness as he made his way to the edge of the treeline. The moon hung high in the sky, masked by a layer of haze. Beyond the treeline was a small outcropping of stones, going along in both directions as far as he could see. Ahead, it dropped down into a small valley, and in the distance were the ruins of Katolis.

And looking along the rocky outcropping, he saw Soren, several yards away. His knees were curled up to his chest, his chin resting on top of them, seemingly zoned out.

Corvus let out a quiet sigh of relief, before carefully making his way over along the rocks towards him.

He sat down next to Soren, giving him a bit of space, but close enough so he’d be noticed by the blonde.

“Are you okay?” He asked, noticing his eyebrows starting to crease slightly. He already knew the answer, but he wasn’t sure what else to say in the moment.

“It’s stupid.” His voice was raw, and, now having a closer look at him, Corvus could see that his bright blue eyes were dulled by a more bloodshot red.

“You can tell me, Soren.” Corvus kept his voice soft, turning his head to look at him fully.

He was silent before a few moments, before deciding to speak. “When I was 17, I was knighted as the youngest Crownguard in Katolis’ history.” He bit his lip slightly. “I never really wanted to be Crownguard, nevermind captain. It was all for my da-” He cut off, clearing his throat. “Viren. It was for Viren.” His gaze went to the rocks beneath them. “I wanted him to be proud. So I did it anyways.”

Corvus was stunned slightly. He knew the first bit; it was hard to be in the Crownguard without hearing about it, but he didn’t know that Soren didn’t want it.

“I really wanted to be a poet, actually.” Soren huffed out a small laugh, but it sounded ingenuine. “Had a small book and everything. They weren’t all that good, but I liked it.” He blew out a breath, resting his chin on his forearm. “I stepped into the med tent a bit ago to get Opeli something and kinda… spiraled.” he paused. “There were so many people in there, I should’ve-”

“You can’t let yourself think like that, Soren.” Corvus reached out carefully, rubbing his shoulder. “It’s not your fault.”

“But what if it is?” Soren turned his head to look at him. “What if it is my fault and so many people got hurt and died because-”

Corvus cut him off, pulling him into a tight hug. He felt Soren sink into his arms, burying his face into the crook of Corvus’ neck.

“It’s not your fault.” He repeated, his hand rubbing circles between Soren’s shoulder blades. “You need to remember that, alright?”

Soren nodded, clinging tightly to him. “I will.” his voice was quiet, muffled due to his face fully pressed into Corvus’ shoulder.

For the next few hours, they stayed there, Corvus feeling the beating of Soren’s heart like the patter of rain against a window under the hazy moonlight.

(not sure my request is gonna fit in one message so I might send 2) Can I request a scenario with his s/o always laughing at his stupid jokes and they play pranks on others and one day they prank Viren but his dad gets really angry and starts yelling at him, telling him his stupid/good for nothing else out of anger (maybe because they damaged something while playing the prank like a rare magical bone or a demon glass skull idk) and Soren is intimidated and sad

Bitter Comebacks (Soren x Fem! Reader)

Warnings: some cursing, Viren being a shitty father (like always).

Genre: Fluff.

You loved playing pranks together. Soren and you had been dating for almost two years now, and every single day was even better than the previous one. You had your fights like every other couple, but they weren't very recurring. Luckily, the two of you complemented each other perfectly. 

Even though you loved spending time alone, you also really enjoyed joking around and playing tricks on people. And today was one of those days. You thought that it would be extremely funny to place a bucket full of water right over Viren's room, so that's what you did.

Once everything was placed, you only had to wait for him to go to his room. He was in a meeting, but you knew it was about to end, so the two of you went to wait for him. The moment he saw the two of you next to the door, he knew something was up, and he wasn't in the best mood to deal with your pranks. But you didn't know that, so you had no idea that he would react the way he did.

When he got to his room, the sudden feeling of the water on him scared him a bit, so he dropped the Magic Gem he was carrying. He managed to catch it before it got to the floor, but when he turned around to look at you, you knew you were in trouble.

"That's it! I'm so tired of your pranks, Soren. Why can't you just behave?" He screamed at his son. "Is it really so difficult for you to be a good son? I can't believe how immature and stupid you are, I don't even want to be near you right now."

"Hey, that's enough!" The words left your mouth before you could process it, but you couldn't just stand there and do nothing. "We played a prank on you, but that's not excuse to treat him like that."

"Excuse me, young lady. I think this is none of your concern-."

"Oh, I think you're wrong, Viren," you interrupted him. You took a step closer to him and looked at him in the eye. "I think this concerns me not only because you're talking about my boyfriend, but also because I was a part of this too. I'm tired of you treating him like shit, he's the most caring and kindest person in the world, and I'm sorry you can't see that, but I'm not gonna let you say those awful things to him, so whatever you want to say to Soren, you can say to me too," you got even closer to him, and even though Viren would never admit it, he felt a bit intimidated. "But you wouldn't dare to do that, would you?" You knew he wouldn't. He was a close friend to the King, but everyone knew your father was the most respected General of the Kingdom, and he would never challenge him.

He took a step backwards and he cleared his throat. 

"I would never want to disturb him young (Y/N)," you slightly nodded, thinking the conversation was over, but he kept talking. "However, I still believe that family matters do not concern you."

"You really want to pull the family card?" You provoked him. "Because we all know that between us two, you're not the one who's Soren's true family," you said. "Family loves each other, Viren, and I'm pretty sure you've never known the true meaning of that word." 

Right after saying that, you grabbed Soren's hand and got away from his father. His room wasn't very far so you got there pretty quickly, and once you were inside, you closed the door and rested your forehead against it. You couldn't believe you'd said that to Viren, you thought you'd never had the courage to step in and defend your boyfriend, but you did. You were interrupted by some sobbing, and when you turned around you saw Soren sitting on the bed with tears in his eyes.

"Hey, Soren, it's okay," you rapidly sat by his side, he wasted no time and rested his head on your shoulder. "Did I overstep? I'm so sorry if I did, I just-."

"No, you didn't do anything wrong," he mumbled. "I, uh, thank you, (Y/N). I never say anything about it, but I always feel very bad when he treats me like that and says those things," you smiled sympathetically at his words. "I know you can tell exactly how I feel, though. Thank you for standing up for me, even though I should've stood up for myself."

"You don't have anything to thank me for, and everything I said it's true; you truly are the sweetest and the best person in this world, I'm sure of it," he moved his head to place a quick kiss on your shoulder. "Don't let him get inside your head, okay? He doesn't know what he's talking about," you felt him nod against your side, and you moved in order to make eye contact with him.

"I love you, (Y/N)," he told you as he placed his forehead against yours. "I love you so much, and you make me really happy."

"I love you too, Soren," you whispered. "And you have no idea how happy you make me, I'm so in love with you."

He smiled, a bit of sadness present in his face, and you cupped his face right before pulling him close to kiss him on the forehead. Once your lips pulled away from his head, you planted a kiss on his lips. It was a sweet and short kiss, but it said everything neither of you could say with words at that moment. You looked in the eye and, without knowing it, both of you thought about how lucky you were to have each other, and about how much you wanted to spend the rest of your lives together.

Soren Angst

Enough of you (like 14 of you gdhfdhfgd) wanted this so uhhhh himbo suffering. 

Story: why didn’t he love me (properly)

He missed his mother.

He knew Claudia did too, but at least Claudia didn’t choose to ditch her, not like how he did.

Back when he still felt like Dad loved him.

Of course, his father said that he loved him. But that didn’t explain away why Soren’s heart crumbled a slight bit more every time he saw or heard or even just knew that his sister and dad were spending time together, learning dark magic or trying to crack some magical elf code or even just reading books in the library.

“It’s not my fault you’re not interested in that stuff, Soren,” Viren said as he picked books out of their shelves, dumping them into his stronger son’s awaiting arms, already carrying books. “You were always more into fighting and swords and more.. physical things.”

“Well, I wanted to protect Harrow,” Soren grumbled, following his dad around, boredly tilting his head to the side to read the book titles. It was all about magic creatures and what they could be used for. Ew. He nearly walked into a shelf as the library cruelly turned to its side almost and guided the men down to another aisle of books. “And swordfighting is cool!”

Viren just sighed. “If you’d picked up, I don’t know, blacksmithing or enchanting weapons, maybe I would have been able to spend time with you. But.. I was never that much of a fighter, not with your sorts of weapons anyway. It’s not my fault there was nothing there.”

“…maybe I should have gone with Mother then…”

Viren’s head snapped around. “What was that?”

“Nothing-“

He dropped the book he’d picked up onto a counter. “That wasn’t nothing, Soren,” he sneered. “What. Did. You. Say.”

“I just.. I just said maybe I would have been better to go with M-“

Viren snatched the books out of his son’s hands and slammed them on the counter as well. “You’d just abandon your little sister and I like that?!”

“What? N-“

“What, just so you could run after stupid little dreams of, what, being a heroic knight? You think your dreams are more important than your FAMILY?!”

“Dad, I-“

“’Dad’ NOTHING, SOREN.”

Soren winced, sinking under his father’s wrath filled gaze. If he wasn’t such a manly muscular man, he would have wept.

He rubbed his eyes quickly.

This is what I think happened after Katolis burned down, Soren probably blames himself and thinks he could’ve done more, and since he was rushing in to try and save people, he probably saw a couple dead people, and smelled the death around him. Anyways!!
