WELL I WAS JUST ADDRESSING THE INITIAL THINGS THAT WERE GLEANED FROM TUMBLR OSMOSIS :p

but yes. there is also a lovely—albeit rather bumbling—duo who are....... who are there. from a governing body. being investigatory, if you will. They don’t have great people skills, which is so #relatable. They wear the silliest hats imaginable and also I need them to kiss immediately.

Okay, wth is preacher about?? So far it looks like a show about a gay grumpy vampire?? and a priest? and they are dating and someone has a drug/alcohol problem? And there's a pretty black lady looking confused too, like wtf's happening here???

It......... Yeah? Essentially?

It’s. It’s definitely an unlikely kind of combination of things, honestly, and after I watched the pilot I was still like “okay I have no idea what the fuck this is about, but I ENJOYED IT”

UHM SO. Brief vague non-spoilery overview.

SO WE HAVE OUR PREACHER, for whom the show is named. He lives in Texas. He has A Past. But now he’s doing his God Thing and he’s gonna improve his small town Texas world. And he gets....... a power, of sorts, if you will. It complicates things.

Into this mix we throw our addicted alcoholic vampire, who... to be quite honest, while a wonderful character, is also kind of the most random character. He quite literally just. uhm. drops into the town. Befriends our preacher. Gets a crush on everyone. Drinks a lot. Makes poor choices.

AND ALSO we have the beautiful and fantastic Woman From Preacher’s Past who’s essentially like “stop the God Thing and come do crime with me again,” to... put it in a not-spoilery way. She has the best jackets and the best face and is wonderful.

Aaaaand so far, we’ve just been hanging out in our Texas Town with our Superpowered Preacher who’s going downhill quickly and digging himself further deeper into a metaphorical hole in his attempts to actually do what he thinks is good.

ALSO FANTASTIC AESTHETIC AND MUSIC CHOICES AND JUST, HONESTLY ALL AROUND REALLY GREAT AND EXCITING AND FUNNY AND THREE DIMENSIONAL AND DID I MENTION REALLY GREAT?
