negativity alert :(
gotten the point where i can't listen or see clips of "fun" hockey podcasters shows because what the hell are they even saying about the flyers. so much confidence saying the wrong things. your literal 9-5 job is to watch hockey and talk about it and you're saying things like "the penguins have a great defense" (spittin chiclets right before the playoffs- pitt was bottom ten in so many defensive metrics during the regular season), "the flyers came out of no where" (empty netters today- flyers have literally been the second best team since the beginning of march), "i don't know if either team is better in this series, the flyers just have the better vibes" (what chaos today- did we not just watch the pens get shut out their second game what the fuck are you saying). sucks bc i do kinda enjoy what chaos in principle but they lowkey have the worst flyers takes by far out of these "main three" in my opinion. guess it's good to hit a point in knowledge where you can't take these shows seriously anymore thank god
and im not saying everyone has to have the same opinion or similar takes about teams. statistics are just numbers how you interpret them is what's important. like if someone said 'oh the pens defensive numbers are really bad the most recent twenty games but i think a young coach like muse will be able to be creative with his top core so it could get majorly fixed before the playoffs' id be like ok i disagree but that's fine. but no. people just say shit! and then want to be taken seriously! this isn't a case of like stephen a smith where he knows no one cares about his actual take and everyone knows his actual take is not the main part of the show these are guys that are like oh we're such big fans/former players we make a living out of just talking about this fucking sport and let me just say whatever the hell i want when there's a plethora of numbers to analyze and form a much more solidly based opinion on. i never want to fucking hear about the pens piss jerseys again that's all people want to do is take away from giving credit to philly sports. are you like ten years old? i get hockey superstitions are a big part of it but how do you expect to get taken seriously when that's the focus of a playoff series segment???
