House Magnar of Kingshouse
Their sigil is a green lobster holding a black harpoon, standing on a field of white. This symbolizes the Magnar's connection with the sea. Their words, "Old Blood, Ready Blade", speak of the Skagosi's fierce nature, and their unbroken line of descent from the First Men.
Stronghold
Kingshouse, as the name suggests, is the would-be capital of an independent Skagos if they had won the rebellion from the North. It is the smallest hold on the island, but unlike the strongholds in the mainland, Kingshouse is built almost exclusively of wood. The fortress wall is a perfect circle and has three main gates (north gate, South Gate, and sea gate) crisscrossed by wood-paved roads. The outer ramparts were built from earth and timber. Within the walls, single-room long houses house 2-3 families each. Other structures such as stables, chicken coops, smithy, supply houses, rookery, etc are also within the walls. An expansive and steep mountain range protects them in the west; a sparse coastline to the north and south, allow them to see anyone approaching. To the East, is a lesser Skagosi island host to several smaller, peaceful clans. Nobody approaches their shores except for Driftwood traders. If foreigners do come, it is by Kingshouse ships that venture north to do business with the Free Folk beyond the Wall.
People
Similar to the Iron Islands, the people of Kingshouse clan are skilled boatsmen and are strongest at sea. This is their man source of economy. They are also the only ones trained in the skill of boat making. This clan most notably wears clothing made from shark skin leathers. The general population are fair complected with platinum to sandy blonde hair. There are a few auburn or light brown hair. Most have light eyes of green or blue. The average height, like all other Skagosi, is about 6’4”-6’7” for men and 5’11”-6’3” for women. There is rumor the height comes from Giantsblood.
Magnar is Old Tongue for “Lord.” House Magnar, similar to the Starks, have some magic in their bloodline which lend them the ability to be natural skinchangers. This ability is important to the Kingshouse clan so they have tried to not dilute the bloodline to ensure a greater control of their abilities. By doing so, House Magnar is riddled with high infant mortality rates and birth defects. The most notable being polydactyly.
