Headcanon for Max and Mina's playdate
Magnus sends Alec on a weekend visit to the Carstairs in Devon, to let him have a break. Max tags along with his daddy to meet Mina.
Mina is fascinated by Max's horns and plays with it when they meet. Max loves it when his little sis Min-ie [Max's nickname for her] caresses his horns with her tiny fingers.
Max describes his visits to Disney Land with Rafe, and Mina listens sincerely with well timed gurgles and smiles.
Jem takes Alec and Max on one of their daily evening visits to Mina's favourite park. Mina holds onto Max's fingers while being pushed on a swing.
Mina starts crying when Jem had to leave her with Alec. Alec tries to calm her down but to no avail. Max steps in and sings one of Rafe's Spanish songs that Magnus used to sing to them. She focuses her attention on him in wonder, easily distracted now from crying.
Alec is proud of his compassionate boy and Jem praises Max for being pitch-perfect when he comes back and listens to the song.
Bat-Max makes an appearance when he realizes that Mina's toy-animal collections lack one. Surely, Mina needs to learn how a bat looks like.
When it's time to leave, Max is sad and hesitant. He gives Min-ie an elaborate hug and invites her to New York to meet his brother and Bapa.
As Max is about to leave through the portal, Mina exclaims " Mas..!". Max is jubilant !!
Max is content that he has both a brother and a sister. Now, all he needs is a dinosaur. Maybe, his uncle Jace will have one.

She wasn’t actually. Frankly, she hadn’t even noticed the bartender was a demon until she was two drinks in - it happened sometimes when she was distracted. Some of them blended in well. Sometimes she needed the amulet just to see things clearly. And so sure, maybe she’d gotten herself into trouble, but she’d have found a way to wriggle herself out of it — probably.
Throwing her can of pepper spray hadn’t been her best bet, maybe. But the effort had to count for something.
“How do you always show up right when I do something stupid?” God, how aggravating. Not him. Not really. Just his timing. It’s herself she’s frustrated with. “You’re so annoying.” Bloodied palms nudge at him — too much pent up adrenaline with no where to go — and she pulls him in a moment later, fingers hooked into his shirt until he’s close enough for her lips to collide with his. “Thank you. I’m sorry. I thought I had things under control…”

Also the owner of the Runaway Rail tavern in Torque is Jace, since he was supposed to be in that story but he never fit LOL. Busiest place in town, the tavern. Jace built it, and paid off Riviel, with some stolen goods he got during one of his last robberies.
He's been hearing rumors about a young lady who has a penchant for blowing things up on the loose and weirdly has a nagging suspicion that he's probably related to her....
