I blame @christopher-lightwood-my-heart and @alexanderlightweight for this. Based on THIS post.
Alec stares at his son, blinking slowly. “He won’t shift back,” he murmurs as his husband kneels down beside him. They stare at Max, currently in bat form as he stares back at them. One of his eyes gives a blink.
“Why must he be so cute while in this form? I wanna be angry but I just can’t.”
Alec snorts, making Max flinch, his little wings flaring out before falling back to his sides. His little bat tongue comes out as he smacks his lips and Alec just barely holds back an awwww. “He hasn’t even eaten yet today,” Alec murmurs.
“I think I might have an idea,” Magnus says, using his magic to summon a blanket. With slow, careful hands, Magnus wraps Max up in the blanket until he’s just a mini bat burrito.
“Awww.” He really can’t be blamed, okay. His child is that adorable. Magnus side eyes him, giving him a fond smile. Alec bumps his shoulder against his husband before looking bad down at Max.
“Here.” Magnus hands him a raspberry which Alec carefully holds up to Max’s mouth. Max opens wide, chomping down on the raspberry and that’s it, Alec is done for. How can he ever be mad at Max again after seeing him chomping on fruit with his little bat mouth and little bat tongue with his little bat teeth sticking out. He’s so wrapped around his little Blueberry’s finger it’s not even funny anymore.
As he continues to feed Max, he leans his head against Magnus’ shoulder. “I can’t imagine not having his,” he whispers.
“A bat for a son?” Magnus asks in amusement.
“No. You. And Max. And this life we’ve created together.”
“Oh,” Magnus breathes. “Just that?”
“Yeah,” Alec says with an amused snort. “Just that.”
