Hold on Tight

They leave Rancho De La Luna behind. 'Hop on, señorita, and hold on tight' is the last thing Alex remembers before wind sweeps through his hair and speed of the motorcycle takes him by surprise.

They flee around sign guiding them to San Bernardino and ride towards mountain range on the horizon. The peaks are covered in late February snow; the sight sends shivers down Alex's spine, but he doesnt't mind, because Josh is so close to his body he'll keep him warm.

He lays his head against Joshua's broad back, feeling courageous and daring tonight, and allows his hands to curl tighter around the bigger man's waist. He thinks of all the girls who held onto that hips being taken for wild ride and wishes to become one of them. 'I can take it too', he wants to say, but instead stays silent, because the engine and traffic around them is noisy anyway, and Josh wouldn't catch a word; he's a focused driver. So Alex just keeps dreaming. He dreams of Josh's mouth trailing down his body: biting into his neck just as they're about to bite into a serving of ribs at a grill they're heading to, sucking over his nipples until they turn scarlet, of Josh's tongue exploring the landscape of his loins. And of his large hands, too: pressing down on his windpipe and testing the limit of his lung capacity.

He gasps for a sip of evening air. He's still little tipsy after downing two glasses of vermouth, but he holds on tight, the smell of Josh's leather jacket and syrupy whiff of sweat filling his nose. The rising moon above them sports a silvery goatee and it guides Alex to be patient. Only patient boys get to lick the cream off the dessert.

When he looks up once more to lip read the moon again, his head spins and he can only clench over Josh's belly for survival. "You okay there?" Josh shouts over the whistling howl of wind on a highway and Alex nods his ching up and down his spine. The wall of muscles moves under Alex's fingertips and makes him happy, safe and hot. It's a hazardous business: they ride fast and they ride without their helmets on. It's about the feeling of freedom and taking a risk, that's part of the thrill; safety only optional. They ride towards the uncertainty of the night—everything can happen on their little rendez–vous and Alex is here for it.
