“It’s just…I’ve never been to Pride.”
David hums, watching Patrick’s face carefully.
“I used to go every year when I lived in New York,” he says.
Which Patrick already knows. David’s told him plenty of stories about his time in New York, both the good and the bad. But Pride feels like one of those things that he missed out on by not figuring out his sexuality until his thirties. It feels like the kind of thing he should do, at least once in his life.
David and Patrick go to Pride in New York as husbands. Patrick has a lot of feelings about it.
the first time i ever went to a boys house was when i was in elementary school it had to be like 3rd grade and he was rich as fuck and had an entire secret room full of toys and a 50 inch flatscreen and a pool table and a huge couch and we were roughhousing and he climbed on top of the roof of this exact playhouse and my primal instincts kicked in and they told me to grab his leg and pull him down so i did and he fell directly on his tail bone and started screaming i never got so scared in my life i thought i was about to go to prison for shattering his spine
