hello!!!! ah yes this really is the ultimate dilemma, but i guess it kind of depends on the story, my favourite version has no dramatic love confessions yk, like nobody knows when they actually got together, they just always were

it didn’t happen one day, loving each other just came so naturally to both of them, saving seats for each other, eyes finding the other first in a room, remus taking his hand to pull him from the crowd, but hours later their hands are still intertwined

maybe it was the first forehead kiss, when remus was checking up sirius’s fever, softly pressing his lips to his forehead, just like his ma always did when he was ill

or perhaps it happened the afternoon, they spent building forts with pillows and blankets, lying together, their pinkies touching, talking about nothing and everything

it could have been when sirius unconsciously started slowing his steps to match remus’ limp, or maybe when their conversations turned into ‘when we graduate’ , ‘moony and i were thinking’

maybe it started they day, sirius quietly started slipping into remus’s bed every night, or when after waking up, remus’ first instinct became pressing a kiss on sirius’s hair

maybe sirius accidentally calling remus ‘my moony’

first conformation that whatever this was, was not platonic was when someone from ravenclaw asked remus where his boyfriend was, ‘at quidditch practice’ he replied without missing a beat, only realising later ‘he’s not my-‘

if either of them were to guess, maybe when they are leaving for the summer, hugging each other tightly, excepts neither of them lets go, ‘this is getting a bit long’ sirius laughs nervously, ‘mhm we should go’ when they finally pull apart, arms still around each other, remus glances down at his lips then back at his eyes, and who leaned in first no one remembers, and they laugh halfway through it

their first i love you is also ridiculously domestic, sirius bringing remus tea, exactly how he likes it, remus takes a sip and groans oh i love you, ‘you do?’, sirius asks, as remus hides his face behind the mug, muttering a small ‘how could i not’, neither of them can stop smiling the entire day

everyone asks how long they’ve been together, they look at each other and neither of them has an answer because they genuinely have been in love with each other for as long as they remember
