You know what I'm kinda surprised there's not more of? Room escape hentai games. Obviously stuff like RPG Maker and Renpy make JRPGs and VNs a super low barrier to entry format, but you'd think escape room style point and click adventure/puzzle games would be a pretty easy ingress to indie games. It has that peak newgrounds energy to it as a concept.

Joker's Trip being a cute little strip blackjack game inspired by that era of flashgames. And kinda janky shit like Imperial Gatekeeper always just remind me how easy yet satisfying it can be to just kinda slap some cute character designs and sex scenes onto an existing game genre. And in particular genres that are a lot more lite weight, and with a snappier gameplay loop than a goddamn jrpg

The genuine interest in the porn and the genuine interest in the game design AND the talent to follow through on them just don't overlap nearly enough
