This piece is based on two experiences in game that have sat with me for a decade now after playing FO4 for the first time. The first is Nate's offer to go for a walk in the park that never happened. The second is when, after being so sure the Institute could never make me side with them, I learned the truth of who Shawn was.

After playing through the Institute's missions and conversating with Shawn, I learn the true meaning of War Never Changes when I realized the child I had been chasing was now the monster I had vowed to destroy in Nate's memory.
