Just because they are your soulmate, it doesn’t mean that you should be together forever.
I want to talk about "soul groups" and the philosophy of yogic karma. It is hypothesized that we have something called a "soul group." A "soul group" is thought to be a collection of souls that not only wait for each other to leave their physical bodies but also reincarnate together to be involved in each other's lives again. They may reincarnate at slightly different times to play specific roles in your life.
Technically, everyone in a "soul group" is a "soulmate." These "soulmates" can be therapists, friends, teachers, family members, lovers, etc. The concept of one "soulmate" is common, often referring to a lover, especially in cultures that value monogamy. If you are polyamorous, you may feel like all your partners are soulmates. Western explanations often imply being with one person forever, but psychics and ancient historians suggest that soulmates aren't limited to one person. The idea of one soulmate could be a way to manipulate people into staying with one person no matter what, believing they are "supposed to be together."
You might not stay with one of your soulmates forever due to karmic ties from past lives. For example, if a soulmate reincarnates as a teacher in your life but strays from their spiritual path, they may reincarnate as your child to neutralize karmic ties and learn from you instead.
A great book called "Many Lives, Many Masters" explains the concept of multiple soulmates in depth.
If you have multiple lovers as soulmates, they may be temporary. A soulmate destined to be with you karmically may appear as a lover, and you are both supposed to learn from each other. Once you've learned what you needed to, you may no longer be meant to be together. This is why exes can feel like soulmates, but the relationship doesn't work out. Friends, teachers, and even therapists can feel spiritually connected to you.
If someone breaks their karmic ties and strays from their life path, they won't be spiritually fulfilling to your life path. The universe might be signaling that you're ready to move on to the next phase. It can be scary, but the unknown often is. Many factors can contribute to a soulmate breakup, including ignoring the universe's signs and gut feelings, which can stall or corrupt your timeline together.
There are infinite reasons why you might not be together forever. That doesn't mean they aren't spiritually significant or meant to be with you for a short time. Trust your instincts. Never risk your physical and mental health for someone because you believe you have to stay with them forever. Listen to what the universe wants you to do—there are likely more soulmates to come.
