Plotwise: Honeymoon [ pt 1 ]
Previous | Next
It was a while before Jer recovered from the day's hustle and bustle. The two newly weds were currently 40,000 feet in the air, cruising on a private jet to Colorado.
"Hey, go put on some normal people clothes and grab the cash stash, we're going out."
Adrian looked up from his book and the hot coco Jer had surprised him with earlier. There was more, eh? ”Out where?” He hummed curiously.
Dec. 17th ~
Jer sighed. He'd slipped away from the hustle and bustle of the party to clear the noise from his head. Yeah, he was a year older. And yeah, Christmas was a week away. He didn't really see the big deal in any of these things. He hummed quietly as he felt familiar hands wrap around him, leaning into the comforting embrace.
"Are you alright?" Adrian asked, resting his chin on Jer's head. The chimera nodded lightly. "Yeah, just...tired." "...I know you don't like large parties, I shouldn't have--" "No, Adri, it's fine. This is nice." Jer said, motioning towards the garden. Most of the plants looked engineered to survive the cold winter, and it was beautiful in the chilly evening gloom.
As if on command, christmas lights around the small closed courtyard flickered on, revealing a pretty fountain in the middle. Both men froze in surprise for a moment, before Jer frowned. "This place is too damn fancy. Let's go home." "But it's nice. It's not too bright is it?" "....No. Okay it is kind of nice."
The red-head looked around, ensuring that they were truly alone. Now was the time.
Still embraced, Adrian held his breath as he slipped a small box - complete with ribbon - into Jer's hands. Surprised, the chimera utters a "You didn't." before opening it to reveal...a ring? But he didn't wear rings, they were too easy to break. "A ring, really?" Adrian was simply quiet as he nodded.
Jer slipped on the ring to humor him, noticing the symbols engraved on the top. Two hands, a heart, topped with a crown. There were also some celtic things, celtic knots, he remembered. Weird. "What's this mean?" He asked curiously.
Adrian fumbled over his words for a moment, before sighing and taking Jer's hands in his. "It's...special. I-it means: With my Hands, I give you my Heart, and Crown it with my Love. It's an old irish emblem."
"...O-oh." Jer stuttered, blushing like an idiot. "Wow, um, t-thanks?" His voice had jumped an octave out of shock at the odd gift. It was actually really comfortable, the edges contoured to his hand. The metal etched and dyed in twisting colors. It was..really nice. It also looked suspiciously expensive. He'd have to rant at Vlad later.
"...It, um," Adrian started, trying to get the courage to say it. He'd willingly thrown himself into danger on many an occasion, but this was terrifying. "...It also means different things depending on how you wear it. To wear it on your left hand, with the heart facing out like that, is meant to show that you're...engaged?"
"...Wait what." Jer stated, pulling out of the hug to stare incredulously at his partner. "Let's get married." The angel blurted out, smiling sheepishly.
After a few prone moments of silence, Jer tackled his partner to the ground in a mad kiss. "--What the actual fuck that's not how you do that, you're supposed to -- I don't -- o-okay, yeah, yes." The stream of words came out so quickly Adrian was barely able to catch anything. "...Yes?" "...Yeah." Jer repeated breathlessly, a little shocked at his own words.
From his place on the ground, Adrian reached up and hugged Jer close. The two stayed there for a while until they remembered it was December, freezing, and they were outside. The two of them made their way back to the warmth of the party, silently deciding not to tell anyone there just yet. For now, it was their precious secret.
----
Vlad watched from the lounge table as the two of them wandered back in. The redhead secretly gave him a grateful nod, which the elder halfa returned. He smirked. It felt so good to plot secret things again. Of course, this plan was entirely benevolent. He'd seen how Adrian had been good for his godson. And it made him feel accomplished to see his Little Lion so happy. So relaxed. And so he'd support the two of them any way he could.
Maybe he'd finally figure out just what Adrian happened to be.
Oh my sweet muffins, I can't sleep. I can't sleep because of JerxAdrian feels. I literally can't sleep I tried.
This is insane. I've never been woken up by feels before. This stuff is...probably the dirtiest things I've ever seen them doing, but it's also super duper fluffy and omg.
I need to write this stuff down it's gold. It's going to come in handy for plotwise things that are coming up very, very soon.
Ahh
Adrian's Second Mission
"I'm off, then." Adrian replied, smoothing down some of Jer's unruly hair one last time before the jump.
Jer looks so dejected. Poor lad. He thought to himself.
"Hey. Be careful. Come back." "I will, love."
"Adrian, Alyssa is waiting." Clockwork spoke calmly, in that omniscient tone of his. He was giving the two of them an amused smile.
Adrian couldn't help but laugh at the look Jer gave him.
The relaxing moment was over quickly, however, and the angel stepped towards Clockwork's portal for his lonely trip over to Tyris.
'Love you'
The mental note was soft and quiet, one last one before their link was severed by the distances of time and space. 'Love you too' He responded with a smile. 'Be back soon. Promise'
And with that, the angel and the time master were gone. Jer was alone again.
