Yesterday between some quiet time and some sermons and small group this thought kept being pressed up on me. And I will say I’m only posting this because this is something that God is working in me as well and guiding me in. But it seems that so much of our lack of trust in God is because we are really just consumers rather than people who want to dig in deep with Him and have a relationship that is steadfast. Consumer mentality lets us say we didn’t like the songs sang at church, or we didn’t get anything from the sermon, all of these are things that come to light because of the posture of our heart, and because we expect God to be at our beckon call. Rather when we are in a relationship with God and that’s what we are seeking then that leads us to God for God himself and has nothing to do with our preferences. In seeking a relationship genuinely with Him we will find we can move from being a consumer and complaining to having a relationship and be content and trust for the simple fact that God is God! • Isaiah 55:11 | So shall My Word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not to Me void. • God’s Word serves a purpose in all things, in all areas of our life. When we walk away saying we didn’t get something from it or the church service, etc....it’s not because God wasn’t speaking....but rather that we were consuming for our benefit and not for the glory of Him. • May we seek God for who He is and not a genie granting wishes. • • • #scripture #faith #God #soulkeeping #soulcare #Jesus #narrowisthepath #dadlife #homeschooldad #homeschooldads #design #nature #truth #bold #bible #biblestudy https://www.instagram.com/p/B2MWcR5h-AF/?igshid=17gfvmtu7qqnk
