"I'm not mad about anything that happened before, you know." They say it so matter of factly, it's as if they were already in the middle of a conversation with her about it. But it's new, it's totally unprompted, apropos of nothing. They could see the way that gentle pang of unease sat in her eyes in times of quiet like this, though and though they weren't sure why, they could just intuit what she was beating herself up about. "I'm not going to pry, either. I'm sure you have your reasons. I'm just..." They trail off for a moment, before following through, "really glad we're friends, now." (From Kris! Because I've been thinking sadly about that meme I sent ever since LMAO)

* "Huh?"

* Saying something out of nowhere like that wasn't the weirdest thing Kris had ever done, but Susie had no idea what they were talking about for a second. It wasn't until they continued talking that she got the hint.

* The monster looked away from them, making sure not to meet their gaze. Was she really that obvious? Maybe that was one of those introvert things... Observing people. Susie thought she did a pretty good job of not showing any worry towards the human though, so maybe it was more because the two had spent so much time together than anything.

* She wasn't going to let them know that they'd read her so well though, even as she felt herself relax a little more.

* "Okay...? Sheesh, dude, where'd that even come from?"

* She gave them a nudge with her elbow. She was glad they were friends, too.

“ oh my god. “ hands clasped in front of his mouth at the ( outrageous ) confession , ryou’s looking as shocked as he feels && while he knew that kai could only mean well together with an admiration of the bravery taken to admit it; those few words sent his two brain cells into pure turmoil. possibly along with other feelings that he couldn’t possibly even start to comprehend.

it was unfortunately one of many confessions , but no matter how much they piled up; ryou could never come close to understanding why. time && time again , people would tell him such kind but purely undeserving words; it just left him wondering. how did they not see himself like he did ? ....&&  what would happen when they did ??

faux astonishment mixed with genuine wash over cat - like features; a nervous laughter unwillingly left him. he wanted to tread lightly on such a sensitive subject && had every intention to treat it as such.

but overwhelming emotions led him astray && the silence rushed him to break it; so without thinking twice― a raw thought not nearly ready to be uttered had made it through.

“ haha. aww , that’s adorable. you got a lil’ crush on me ?? that’s so gay. “ , ryouta had teased the other; pretending the confession wasn’t intentional && anything more than platonic as he’s internally cursing himself for the next decades to come. ( it’s just so scary , too scary; leaving yourself vulnerable , isn’t it ? but how far will you go to isolate yourself from everything you’ve ever wanted ? )

“ thanks. you’re cute , but you don’t have to cheer me up like that. “

           A sip of her coffee. The elder teen looks to the younger one, and gives a small nod of her head. They had a smart little brain in their noggin, didn’t they? Very well read, a profound thought process...even so, it was nice to have a small bit of company, no matter how young. After all, they’re proving to be a decent conversationalist.

          “‘s kinda sad. Tha’ those loud, hypocritical people are tha ones who ge’ ta decide how thin’s go. No matta how absurd ‘er ridiculous i’ migh’ be. An’ then tha ones who try ta make sense o’ i’ are tha bad guys. Forced ta live in anotha’s hypocrisy is our condemnin’. Our sense o’ justice has no place an’ no voice half tha time.”

            Downing the rest of her coffee in one go, she folds the paper cup before discarding it in the waste bin.

         “--bu’ i’s more tolerable when we can a’ leas’ speak freely an’ know wha’ tha hell we mean.”
