This Saturday at the Walker: Resonance: A Sound Art Marathon May 18 2019, 12pm, Free, McGuire Theater Sculpture sings and sound takes shape. The visual (instruments, sculpture) and the aural (sonic landscapes, jazz, found sound) layer and interweave in this daylong marathon celebrating interdisciplinary experimentation. The international group of artists—Tarek Atoui, Philip Blackburn, Jules Gimbrone, Walter Kitundu, Haroon Mirza, Matana Roberts, Christine Sun Kim, and Craig Taborn and Camille Norment—play in auditory and visual accord with the audience while exploring the resonances between visual art and sound performance.
