thinking of starting a podcast but the host is just Soundgasm.
you stumble upon all kinds of shit on there. people reading poems, just sharing thoughts, telling you about their day, asking you about yours, role playing a partner, a friend. words of encouragement, random observations.
could be neat. all the usual platforms are dominated by the big names, even the platforms not meant for them. but they have to sink their teeth into every platform — trickle down from late night cable TV or reality TV or cable news all the way down LibSyn and SoundCloud.
but I haven’t encountered them on Soundgasm.

Found Sound (1996)
TFEH presents: Hannan Jones / Robert Ridley Shackleton & Off Brand at Fruitmarket, Edinburgh: 21/5/26.
Tfeh presents a triple bill of experimental music at the intersection of "you liked the last one" and "you'll probably like this one".....
Tickets available NOW.
HANNAN JONES.
Working at the intersection of interests specific to folks who like to stay informed about research-based, interdisciplinary approaches to personal histories, rhythm & psychogeographical ideas, and, at the same time, enjoy befuddling their lugs with a blend of electronic improvisation, carefully-considered field recordings and joyous noise, Hannan Jones will ensure that, if you are not already, you are also captivated by the above by the end of her performance.
ROBERT RIDLEY SHACKLETON.
Working at the intersection of International Pop Super Stardom aspiration and & No Audience Underground self-flagellation, The Cardboard Prince has delivered more than 200 releases of no-fidelity card funk and introspective, yet often hilarious, audio diaries, via his Cardboard Club publishing house as well as countless other mines of real OUT ephemera, and he invites youse to party.
HANNAN JONES & OFF BRAND.
Working at the intersection of drinking rounds culture and trying to organise a piss up inside a brewery, sound artist Jones and free-players Khnaisser & Robertson will finally deliver an oft-blabbered about across pub tables, yet never before realised collaboration that serves as a toast to hanging out with pals and doing cool stuff.

Sentimental sounds of my youth now silenced by technology:
-click of a rotary dial
-plugging quarters into a jukebox
-kickstarting a motorcycle
-rewinding a cassette tape
-taking/ejecting a Polaroid
-the dial tone
-my grandmother’s confused “hello?” on an answering machine message
-rhythm of a hand-cranked car window
-the awkward unfolding and folding of a map
-fuzzy hum of projectors and the spin/flip of film reels
-electric static of a TV set
-needle kissing new vinyl for the first time
-silence.
-pop
-hiss
-sound.
