The bad news is that Pooplord is definitely dead and in a limboscape defined by his last moments. The worse news is that Dadlord has been dragged down towards hell with his ungrateful son. The good news is that he is such a persistent and well-meaning Dad that he is still making cakes.
Otherwise, the periodical pyrotechnics have gone out, and there's Totally Not Demons about. I can't tell you why, but there's pretty obvious work going on here with the classic light/dark real world/underworld dichotomies that artists once so loved. Like Pooplord's house, it's hard to feel like we're on solid ground. At any moment Pooplord could die again. Or lose his soul. Or we just switch back to Rolonde. I'm above the clouds, but still in the dark.
At least the heart still beats.
I regret to inform everyone that I have learned how to isolate audio from my desktop
Monsterverse Godzilla has a cool sounding roar. You look for the source and think “wow, cool!” Don’t get me wrong: I LOVE Monsterverse Godzilla’s roar. It suits his appearance and his character. The loudness of it is what makes it startling.
But it isn’t scary to me like early Heisei era Godzilla’s deep, thunderous roar. You want to run and hide because it reaches into that primitive, primal part of your brain that is afraid of big rumbly sounds like thunder, tornadoes, earthquakes, volcanoes, etc..
And he varies it. The frequencies you hear between the beginning and end of it may have a lot of growl or a lot of metallic scraping. The scariest ones have both. Those are the roars that tell you he is pissed off.
It’s bone-chilling, and it’s my favorite version of his roar.
Guess what I blast every November 3rd? Yup. That roar. As loud as I possibly can.
It’s not the whole thing but it’s the highlights and that’s all that matters! I’m sorry (Not Sorry) but if there’s anything that motivated me more in the opening of the second game it was this before such an epic castle siege! <3 (c) Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings (c) Andrzej Sapokwski
