i keep thinking about a friend of ours who had 4-5 friends (including us) tell him he was possibly autistic and/or AuDHD and then how his therapist fucking said "errrmmm actually 🤓☝️ you don't have either" then proceeds to tell him a few therapy sessions later that he has a major attention deficit but "still doesn't have ADHD or Autism"
... I've seen that friend almost have a meltdown due a certain noise that irritated them and then from that noise everything started to irritate them. I've seen and heard that friend struggle so much socially, I've seen that friend vent about being bullied for no reason,
IVE seen that friend tell me one of their bullies told him he was autistic af (as an insult / joke) BUT IT LITERALLY MADE OUR FRIEND ALMOST CACKLE BECUZ "a bully can see it but a therapist can't apparently" (he said as a joke to us)
and despite thinking that maybe he has audhd, he doesn't wanna self-diagnose bc he says it feels "bad" to do so and explained to us that he does support self-diagnosis, but just not when it comes to himself.
I've also seen this fucker read the DSM-5 ON BOTH AUTISM AND ADHD IN FRONT OF US (we were on a discord call) AND SAY "wow that's literally so me, wtf" AND THEN ONCE HE SAID THAT MF SAID TO US "... but uhm.. err.. I'm not self-diagnosing, just saying i really relate to a lot of these things"
and also his "hope" of actually having both died down due to his therapist. he just wanted to figure out if he actually had any of those so he could finally label what the fuck is "wrong" with him but his therapist turned any of his hope of having those into "urgh, if a professional can't diagnose me with something that i feel i have and something that a ton of my friends who have said thing said i may have, then maybe i don't have it at all and I'm just faking it or something.."
and that's kinda sad
