Sound Art Revisited is out now

I am pleased to announce the publication by Bloomsbury Academic of Sound Art Revisited, a completely revised and updated version of Sound Art: Beyond Music Between Categories, which Rizzoli published in 2007. I have been working on this for the last couple of years and am very glad to fianlly see it available, “again” (the Rizzoli edition has been out of print for the last five years). It’s quite different from the rather deluxe original hardcover book: a mere 25 images (black and white only), no CD, no artist bios in the back, and much has been cut out or re-arranged from the main text; but I’ve also added a ton of material (at least half of the contents are new to this edition). I think the new version is ultimately superior, with a better flow, covering the history and scope of this still little-understood genre in a user-friendly, art-historical way that no other book out there does, to my knowledge.
