nemhaine42Ā D: i've had the air puff test but never eye-poking.
THIS IS WHAT I MEAN so many people iāve asked already have no clue what im talking about! but they put in this bright ass yellow numbing drops and then use a pen-looking thing to press on your eye to test the pressure
lcn71Ā I know what you're talking about, but I do not know why they choose one test over another.
soundslikevanillaĀ I've never had the eye poking but I legit can't keep my eyes open for the air puff thing but I think my doctor did something different last time
idk how anyone can keep their eyes open for that tbh
dragonthalyneĀ I'm not sure what exactly you mean by the last one cause it could a bunch of different things, but they're both kinds of tonometry. The air puff checks to see what the pressures are in your eye, same as the other methods. Depending on the method, you could get more accurate results than the other. So depending on how concerned your doctor may be about one's risk for glaucoma, different tests are warranted. (Feel free to message me for more details if you need).
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU... i think i told them my mom has glaucoma so maybe they switched to that to keep my eyes in better check??
cenoturkĀ What drafonthalyne said :)
cenoturkĀ **dragonthalyne
yesss my questions have finally been answered!
priyasfinalfantasyĀ The air puff test is to check internal eye pressure
so is the other one! itās just a different way
