- Langa doesn't know how to swim except the doggy paddle
- Reki wanted a dog as s kid so badly that he made an entire presentation about it for his parents and got his sister involved, too. They had to tell him no, because they couldn't afford it and because dogs require a lot of attention. Reki wouldn't speak to his mother for two days.
- Reki has definitely tried to skateboard in high heels before and he definitely failed
- Miya's YouTube recommended page consists solely of playthroughs and theories for his favorite RPGs
- Kojiro was a pokemon kid
- Langa had braces in middle school but hardly anyone noticed because of how quiet he was. His mouth was almost always closed, and he smiled with his mouth closed for photos, so there is no photo documentation that he ever even had braces
- Langa doesn't take a lot of photos, not at all. If he does, it's of nature or whatever. He has, like, one photo of him and Reki in his phone.
- Reki takes more videos than photos. If vine was around when he was a teen, he definitely would've made a viral video
- Kaoru got the first piercing because Kojiro dared him to, thinking he wouldn't actually do it. After that he just kept getting them because he thought they looked cool. (Though he definitely did that first piercing himself and it got infected. He went to tattoo parlors after that)
- the only person in the past five years who has seen Kaoru in anything but a yukata (or similar traditional clothing) is Kojiro. Apparently Kaoru wears shorts in his own home occasionally.
- Reki has long eyelashes
- Reki always has to remind Langa to wear sunscreen, even on cloudy days. Langa did NOT inherit any genes from his mother that would allow him to tan, and thus was constantly either a) white as a sheet or b) red as a tomato
- as soon as Koyomi learned what "gay" was, she looked at Reki and Langa and decided that they were secretly dating (they were not, but she wasn't that far off, it was just mutal pining!)
- Reki knows that airpods are useful and convenient and he can definitely afford them but refuses to ever buy them
- Reki likes grape flavored popsicles and Langa and Miya agree that this is a crime against humanity
- Miya loves sour candy and once made Reki and Langa eat seven warheads at once with him. He was majorly unaffected, but the other two actually physically damaged their tastebuds
- Miya eats lemons in restaurants (including Sia La Luce, and it drives Kojiro crazy)
- Miya doesn't like lemonade, though. It's too sugary.
- Before "S", Hiromi's persona of Shadow lived online as an internet troll
- Langa gets weirdly invested in internet drama even though he doesn't know the first thing about the people they're about (he could tell you the whole timeline of the Tati and James Charles drama tho)
- Reki's English writing is just as bad as Langa's Kanji, and they try to help each other with it but get a little frustrated
- While Miya has great grades in school, it's not because it comes easily to him (like skating). He actually works really hard, and he struggles the most with reading and writing. His favorite class is art.
- Kojiro is a truth serum drunk
- Reki really likes sunflowers, and just flowers in general. He'd probably never say it out loud to anyone but Hiromi or maybe Langa, but he just thinks they're pretty and appreciates their beauty.
- Langa is not a picky eater, but he will, under NO circumstances, eat anything with mustard on it.
- Kojiro taught himself how to braid hair in middle school using Kaoru's hair (he very reluctantly let Kojiro do this)
- Langa used to have a lisp as a child, but he eventually grew out of it
- Reki has glasses with a fairly weak prescription that he just doesn't use (they're supposed to be "just for school" but he really cannot be bothered. plus, he heard that if you don't wear glasses when you need them that your vision won't worsen and might even improve)
- Kojiro not only speaks fluent Italian, but also is proficient in French and even speaks English well enough to get his point across
- Reki loved reading American comic books as a kid. It was just too bad that he had no clue what the dialogue was. He'd try to come up with the dialogue himself, though, and his mom would always find him muttering to himself in various voices when reading
- Reki's headband was a gift from Oka
- Almost anyone in Reki's school could call him their friend, but he never really hung out with anyone (but his other friend who used to skate) until Langa came along
- Langa is a good dancer, Reki... is not (but he has fun!)
- Kaoru can break dance, but no one but Kojiro knows this (for now)
- Miya never has a huge growth spurt like everyone expects him to, he remains below average in height
- Reki doesn't watch a lot of shows, but he LOVES Avatar: the Last Airbender (I assume that show has been translated into Japanese??)
- Langa straightened Reki's hair once with his mother's iron. He burned both his ears multiple times
- Miya actually has a convoluted haircare routine
- Kojiro got Kaoru into the habit of always carrying around lip balm with him (whenever Kaoru would ask to borrow his, he would make an indirect kissing joke. eventually Kaoru just got his own)
- Reki definitely had a crush on the friend that taught him to skate and just did not realize it at the time because he thought he only liked girls
- Reki sleeps under his sheets and blanket all year round
- Langa had terrible acne in his early teen years and he was an early bloomer
- Reki had a tooth gap before he got braces
- Miya wears Invisalign, Reki and Langa insist that he’ll never know the torture that was having braces and remark how “kids these days” have it so easy
- Langa is good at history, mostly because he has a decent memory
- Kojiro got homesick very often when he was in culinary school in Italy, and he called his parents every Sunday
- Langa had a kindergarten girlfriend who was absolutely heartbroken when Langa told her that he just wasn’t that interested. She threw a temper tantrum and punched Langa in the face.
- Hiromi was in a long-term relationship with a girl in high school, but they broke up when she left for college. It took him a while to recover.
- Hiromi is better at mariokart than Miya and it pisses him off
- no one wants to be in the room when Kaoru and Kojiro play mariokart against each other
- Reki got sick a lot as a kid, usually just the common cold (which was kind of ironic given the climate he grew up in)
- Langa never really held anyone’s hand (not since he was a literal child, anyway) until he met Reki. He then discovered that he liked having his hand held
- Kaoru wears eyeliner to “S”
- it takes Langa a few months to really start to unpack his boxes and decorate his room when he moves to Okinawa
Sk8 headcannons because brainrot pt. 3 (Renga edition)
- Reki doesn’t chew on pencils because “that’s gross”, but he chews on the backs of pens
- Reki was never really outright bullied, but he found himself being excluded from a lot of group activities when he was younger, so he learned how to entertain himself
- One of Reki’s favorite scents is lavender and he realizes that Langa’s mom uses lavender-scented detergent when he’s in their laundry room one evening (it’s the night of his beef against Adam in the rain, after they’ve made up. He’s wearing Langa’s hoodie and sweatpants when he’s putting his wet clothes in the dryer and noticed the detergent. He can’t stop thinking about the smell of Langa’s clothes (that he’s wearing!) after that)
- Langa always jaywalks and it freaks Reki out
- Langa doesn’t feel the need to confess his feelings or anything like that, he just does what feels natural to him (Reki, on the other hand, is constantly having a mental breakdown trying to figure out if Langa is romantically interested in him or if his actions are just his normal weird Langa mannerisms.
- Langa doesn’t have a phone case until Reki forces him to get one
- Langa’s favorite flowers are snowdrops (because of course they are) and Reki’s are forget-me-nots and hibiscuses
- Reki orders a sweatshirt online and it comes a couple sizes too big so he gives it to Langa. He washes it before doing so, so the fabric smells like Reki for a little while. Langa is happy about this.
- Sometimes Langa shows Reki is favorite American shows, they have to put the Japanese subtitles on because Reki sucks at English
- Langa absolutely speaks some French. To Reki it just sounds like English with more coughing sounds. And when Langa explains to Reki that objects are masculine/feminine, Reki just goes around and points at objects like "what's this chair???" "it's feminine" "what about my skateboard????" "also feminine"
- Langa cuts his own hair. He has not seen a proper barber in three years.
- Langa was absolutely Reki’s bi awakening. He is an absolute mess because “why do I wanna kiss my best friend??????? I like girls??????”
- Meanwhile, “gay” was used as an insult for Langa in middle school so he googled it and was like “oh yeah, that is me”. So he literally didn’t care when his peers tried to use it to bully him and it pissed them off.
- And suddenly when Langa’s father tragically passed away, everyone who previously teased him in school was super nice to him.
- Langa never talks about his dad’s death, except this one night when he was with Reki and he just bawled his eyes out for the first time in ages. He misses his dad.
- Reki falls into the “bisexuals can’t drive” stereotype, it takes him many tries to get his license, Langa teases him (lightly) about it
- Reki always hums or sings along to music, and he even has the ability to make up harmonies on the spot. Langa likes listening to him but never points it out because he knows Reki would get self-conscious and stop.
- Nanako is used to the Japanese being not that affectionate to each other, just because that's how Japanese culture is. So when she meets Reki and this kid is All Over her son, she is slightly confused. But then the more she thinks about it, the more she remembers her own husband being physically affectionate with her and suddenly it kind of makes sense.
- Langa thinks the way Reki explains things is super easy to understand, but the opposite is true for Reki. Langa is terrible at explanations.
Sk8 headcannons because brainrot pt. 5 (Reki edition for his birthday!)
- Reki always says he doesn’t want a big fuss for his birthday but he secretly likes being fawned over and given presents
- people in his family have tried to give Reki another headband to wear, but he always wears that same navy blue one with the spannergon design
- Reki likes honeybees, he thinks they’re cute
- if Reki is having issues or needs help with skating, his go-to adult person is Kojiro, but he also goes to Kaoru occasionally depending on the problem
- Kaoru likes Reki way more than he lets on, he’s not quite as playfully rude with him as he is with Kojiro, but there’s usually an element of teasing sarcasm to their conversations
- Kaoru and Reki are alike in that they overanalyze things. When it comes to skating, this can be good, but when it comes to social situations, is isn’t.
- so basically 50% of the time Kaoru gives Reki advice, he’s being a huge hypocrite (Reki doesn’t really know this, since Kaoru keeps a lot of things close to his chest)
- Reki lacked a filter when he was really young, he just said everything that came to his mind and it got him in trouble often. As he matured and became more self-conscious/insecure he learned that not everything has to be said out loud.
- he kinda overdid this, though, because he also was constantly told that he was annoying when he talked too much about the things he was passionate about, so he shut himself up sometimes (like in that one scene in ep. 1 right before Langa introduces himself to the class)
- Reki used to not hydrate enough, but then he got an app where you water a cute little plant when you drink water and he could NOT let that plant die
- Reki's mother used to give him forehead kisses when he was really young, and when he's sad and comfy enough to talk to her about it, she gives him forehead kisses and it makes him feel safe
- and when Reki and Langa eventually get together and Langa gives him forehead kisses, he feels the same way
- Reki has a hard time wearing a matching pair of socks, they're almost always different, even if just slightly
- Reki used to get sick really easily as a kid, but he was the type of kid to pretend everything was okay and try to go to school anyway. This wasn't because he was super enthused about learning or anything, just because he didn't want to worry his mom too much (it came to bite him in the ass when he vomited in front of his whole class in elementary school)
- Reki is actually a decent writer when it comes to fiction, but he struggles in school because essays hinder his creativity with their structure and analytical nature
- Reki's mom cuts his hair for him, he was always fidgety when he went to the barber as a kid
- Reki lets his fingernails grow out a bit long because he likes being able to drag them over his skin lightly or tap them on metal surfaces
- Reki still keeps a friendship bracelet he had with the boy who taught him to skateboard. He doesn't wear it anymore, especially after the two stopped talking, but it's in a drawer in his nightstand
- Reki loves watching sunsets, especially at the beach.
- He also loves running barefoot on the beach at night, and one time he takes Langa to go do this with him. They end up laying on the sand giggling like children
- Reki snorts when he laughs really hard. Langa likes it.
- Reki once tried to sell origami to his classmates for 1 yen in elementary school. His teacher shut down his little operation pretty quickly, requiring that he return the money to all his peers who had bought from him
- Reki's never left Japan, he's been off the island of Okinawa enough times to count on both hands.
- Reki likes tomatoes. Like, he'll eat one like an apple.
- Reki's shoulders are always slightly sore, likely from hunching over and working on boards and schoolwork and such so often
- He is strictly a user of mechanical pencils
- not original but Reki absolutely doodles Langa literally all the time
- Reki used to be afraid of hospitals, but after taking up skateboarding he quickly learned that he needed to get over that (so he did)
- Reki considers his most recent birthday the best one so far, since he had more friends to celebrate with than ever before :)
- everything Reki has ever taught himself has been because of the wonderful world of YouTube tutorials
- Kojiro wanted to get his ears pierced in highschool like Kaoru, but he didn't do it because he was afraid of tarnishing his image (which is ironic when he gets a massive tattoo later in life)
- Langa doesn't like cats because he thinks they're mean
- there’s a stray cat that lives near Langa’s house and even though he doesn’t like cats, he leaves out milk and some fish for it sometimes because he feels bad
- Langa has never had a pet except a goldfish he won at a carnival once that he managed to keep alive for four years somehow.
- Kaoru technically needed glasses in high school, but he didn't wear them because he just didn't care at the time (until his vision grew poor enough that it affected his skating)
- Miya gets called a furry by Reki on the daily
- Reki has some knowledge in video editing and has considered starting a YouTube channel
- Langa has a diary, something he started after his father died. At first he didn't really know what to write, so he would just talk about his day, but eventually he got to the emotions part. The diary was especially useful during his fight with Reki in which he was trying to figure out his emotions (it was also useful when he realized he might have an itty bitty crush on his best friend)
- Joe is the biggest dad friend of the group in terms of doting on the kids and giving advice and stuff. Both Reki and Langa come to him often for advice, and Miya hangs around his restaurant a lot.
- Langa has one (1) succulent that he has managed to keep alive for three years. Its name is Gary, and it may not be the prettiest, but it is not dead yet!
- Reki never tells his mother when Langa is coming over and she's trained herself to just expect a lanky Canadian to be wandering around her house at any time.
- It took Kojiro a really long time to figure out his sexuality (and that's valid!!)
- Hiromi has been hopelessly in love with his manager for three years and has tried on multiple occasions to confess to her, but either something interrupts them or there's some sort of misunderstanding about it. Those are his more violent nights at "S".
- After befriending Reki, Langa and Miya, Hiromi is a little more careful about his tools of sabotage during beefs (and he lowkey feels guilty for injuring Reki in the beginning)
- Kaoru and Reki are actually closer than one might think. Reki ends up asking him for advice just as much as he asks Kojiro.
- Reki can't do something mundane without his ears being occupied. He ends up listening to music or podcasts a lot when he does chores or is working on a board alone (but if Langa is there with him, he'll talk his ear off instead).
- Miya's family isn't particularly bad, they're just a little distant. They assume everything is okay because Miya's so successful with school and skating, and they trust his integrity (which makes it very easy for him to sneak out to "S"). He doesn't really talk to them (or anyone, really) about his struggles.
- When Miya and Koyomi meet, he shows her all his video games and suddenly Reki's little sister is a gamer girl
- Langa almost wore a long-sleeved top to the beach and Reki had to go make him change before they left ("you'll melt in that, are you crazy?!")
- Kojiro knew damn well that Kaoru had a business trip and that the gang was going to the beach, but all other parties were unaware. He just decided to tag along as to not be left out.
- Kaoru trims his own hair, as he finds salons to be ridiculously overpriced for those with long hair
- Reki dogsits for his next door neighbor sometimes, they have a shiba named Onigiri (rice ball).
- Kojiro’s pennant was a gift from Kaoru and he wears it literally all the time except in water (so it doesn’t get ruined)
- Reki’s father is pretty absent, so Oka takes it upon himself to look after him
- Langa occasionally picks up odd jobs in order to help his mom out with finances
- Langa’s favorite animal is dolphins. He had a phase as a child where he read like fifty dolphin books and it was his entire personality for a few months. Despite this, he has never actually seen a dolphin irl
- Reki takes really good care of his nails and Langa… does not. He bites them and it annoys the shit out of Reki to the point where he’s just like “please… just let me file them for you” and Langa relents despite the fact that he hates the sensation of getting his nails filed
- Reki sometimes talks to Langa about getting depressed and one time Langa is like “yeah I getchu” and Reki is just like “heh?” And Langa says “I mean my dad died and I was in counseling for like months after that before I came here” and Reki is just like “oh”
- Langa is Reki’s bi awakening and it takes him a hot second to figure that out
- sometimes Langa pretends to be more oblivious than he is, either for shits and giggles, or to obtain information
- Kaoru knows exactly how to seduce women, and occasionally uses this to his advantage. It just sucks because he’s not into women.
- Reki is super observant, but whenever Langa does something that’s an indication that he likes Reki, he’s just like “WELL MAYBE IM OVERANALYZING THIS CANT BE REAL-”
- Langa (in general) doesn’t feel the need to be super secretive about anything. He’s honest (sometimes brutally so) and doesn’t always think twice before he says something. This can be both good and bad depending on the context.
- Reki doesn’t sleep a lot. He literally has to go to bed past midnight, he absolutely cannot fall asleep earlier. He gets up at 6:30am every day of the week, even weekends. It’s just how he’s programmed.
- Kojiro used to go to the public gym before Kaoru commented about how unsanitary that was. Ever since then he got freaked out about going to public gyms (especially as someone who works in food services) and cancelled his membership. He bought his own equipment and works out on his own now
- Reki knows how to do rainbow loom. His sisters had a phase with it.
- Kojiro drew on himself with pen when he was bored in school.
- Miya has a habit of eavesdropping on conversations he’s not meant to hear

- Hiromi needs a hug (everyone)

- Langa likes coffee ice cream (D)
- Reki likes classic vanilla… but with a LOT of toppings (that’s how he accidentally ate an edible once, he picked up the wrong gummy bears (at Kojiro’s place)) (D, C)

- Kojiro makes his own ice cream (N)

- Kojiro’s love language is acts of service (which is part of the reason he learned to cook) (K)
