Of all the days 💔 Tom Petty and Las Vegas. Two things my heart holds dear. Tom was one of the first concerts I went to when I was growing up (last season that Starwood was open). I’ll never forget the impression that show left on me. I will forever remember the feeling of hearing the crowd sing along every word to every hit. If you’ve never heard it - today’s the day to go listen to Breakdown live from Pack Up the Plantation. I’ll be spinning that album all night tonight. #TomPettyandtheHeartbreakers #southernaccent . . #Repost @rollingstone (@get_repost) ・・・ Tom Petty, the dynamic and iconoclastic frontman who led the band the Heartbreakers, died today. He was 66. Last week, he completed a summer tour with the Heartbreakers. The trek marked the band's 40th anniversary and found him playing rarely played deep cuts like their first album's opener, "Rockin' Around (With You)," and a selection of 'Wildflowers' cuts. "The road and the studio are the only places I've ever felt completely OK," he recently told us. Learn more about him at RollingStone.com. Photograph by George Rose (at Starwood Amphitheatre)
