This might be an unpopular opinion but I’m fine with writers inserting their beliefs in retellings if it’s done well, like there’s a series of Soviet cartoons (of which Perseus 1973 is a part of) with some very obvious communist messages. There’s a short film with Heracles where the Hydra is slithering through Ancient Greek ruins and turns into a swastika, very clearly referencing the Nazi occupation of Greece in WW2, Heracles is horrified by this and decided to return to the mortal world and help ppl.
